Air recon gives about an 80% idea of the area, and it spotted nothing. With Leningrad Moscow and Kharkov hard pressed, I took the chance and sprung Kempf's PzC to the coast...

Based on the reliable air intel and the assessment of the overall situation, I would say that the chance you took was very worthwhile indeed.

Wow, that's a long push; are you going to have to split up divisions to complete the encirclement?

Not sure if I going to get that far now. I'm having a devil of a time just isolating Leningrad. Come turn 18 the mud hits...

T14 DAR Leningrad...The Finns can't attack across the line until Leningrad and North Leningrad fall. 18th army did an assault and loss some 6k of men but did reduce it from a level 5 fort to a 4... Now 1st PzD attacked north and dislodged the 2 fort areas, at this time the Finns can move south into the two areas...Leningrad is now isolated...Another note I did two attacks on the city, and am rotating a corps off the line every turn, a little R&R really helps morale...

Hello Pyledriver, your AAR is very interesting and informative.
Do you think you can clear Leningrad before the mud appears...?? In the South the AI have apparently not much of a defens on the Crimea and therefore you can easily catch Sevastopol before Mud as I think.
Where will you stop your advance shortly before the mud season...??
I am eagerly waiting for an update of your wonderful AAR. It reminds me of my last WIR campaigns with the Axis forces.

greetings

Hohenlohe

T15 Leningrad...18th army attacks take Leningrad, a reserve corps attacked N. Leningrad and dislodged the defenders. This should activate the Finns next turn...

I noticed that the number of Germans captured has remained at 163 since the 9th turn. This seems odd to me.

Well the Soviets haven't done any attacks since then. Come the winter blizzard you'll see plenty of Axis units shattered and men captured as the Soviets launch their attacks...
