With the Italian Campaign winding down until the summer offensive I turn my thoughts to Liberating France.

Southern France: The Decision. . .

Need to limit to 4 naval TF's, maybe 5 at most. Other than that, thoughts?

You need a port.

I would say land he is very weak and disorganized now.

His replacements will be used up filling up surrendered units coming back which means his front line units will be weak and getting weaker.

The snowball effect.

Once you have the upper hand keep hammering.

Personally if I was you I invade near Brest asap.

Drop paras on the ridge east of port land to north of ridge and near Brest.

Hes down so kick him and finish him off.

Southern France I can defend with old lady's and children = horrible terrain, invade Breast

Northern France Options

Pelton likes the Brest area. I am not sold on it though.

"J" and "K" are the only way, and yes, that rhymes. Here's my master plan, brought to you by courier from Corsica. Oh, I almost forgot. No para drops in Corsica or Sardinia to report, so far. I would be negligent if I didn't mention that you should recon, for several weeks before you decide where to actually land. Fly them in very poor weather if you have to, they signed up for it.

Its tie down troops

He can be ground down now I believe, aka Snow ball hes in deep trouble in Italy.

Personally I land B at B. Land C at D Land D 1 hex east of E

E land just to SE of Guingamp cutting that rail line.

Drop 2 para's on the rail line west of Loudear cutting that line Make sure its cut!!! land more if u need or all.

A Land west of Lorient cutting the rail line.

You have 2 paras left land 1 2 hexes inland from the Lorient landing and the fouth at your para drop 2.

Ok the hole area is shut down, one thing learnt in WitE rails area key you do not need bombers to cut rails and you have to have a set to win as WA's from what I am seeing.

The landing that cut the rails can be pulled they are just there to cut rails with ZoC, but if he reaction is slow you got the hole dam area and the frontage is to big for him to contain.

You have started a manpower crunch of which he can never recover IF you surround troops and get them to surrender 1 or 2 regiments or divisions at a time.

He is off balance do not let him recover keep pounding. He really screwed up in Italy you have and opening finish him off.

I read allot of AAR's dealing with WitW and I have yet to see people push the system from the WA side.

You have allot of tools use them, be creative with what you have think out side the box.

Huge problem bro with that, chance are he has a few 3-4 LARGE elite panzer divisions close to that.

If that was me on the German side you be in the North Sea swimming for England the 2nd turn.

A small landing like that will not survive. Its clear terrain you get creamed before you get fort lvls up or supplies build up on beaches. Landing are very weak the first 2 turn vs 20-30 CV GD/PD's.

Once your Tank divisions are on Brittary he is toast, because you have depleted most of his best units in Italy or they are cut off and will keep depleting his replacements.

Once you grind down his units in Italy and near Brest some you can easly breakout and it be a smoke show after that unless I am missing something.

You got 1000"s of transports so u never run out of supplies after a breakout.

A lot more prep would go into it before I invaded there. These are just ideas, and the invasion on that screen was not my main invasion, it was a diversion. He's so weak, he can't push me out, which came from the preparation. Maybe it's just me, but am I hearing a challenge? I got 4 games going atm, but I think I could squeeze you in my schedule (That's a joke).[8D]

Yes Sir

Now that is what Patton would have done.

Doing some research on air landing troops I don't see any way to get guys landing in the middle at 3 and 4. Unless within 8 land hexes they have to be adjacent to an invasion site.
Also one other thing I found out is that after may 44 you can make a temp port into a mulberry which is a level 4 port. I think it would be best practice to put one of those on a temp port in a rail line hex
Invasions on a rail line create a level 1 railyard, which you don't get on a non rail hex

I'd use an airborne division at 1, 3, and 6. Don't break down the airborne divisions. 6 will isolate Etaples. This is an ai game, with everything set to 110% for some practice.

End of Allied Turn 27

All that is left to do now is clean up the pocket, which may be easier said than done.
