When it comes to youth, there are a lot of similar symptoms for Bipolar and ADHD. A psychiatrist or mental health person needs to be careful diagnosing somebody because if you get it wrong the medications will not help. Most of my teenage boys have ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder).

I couldn't imagine landing there as long as Pearl has supply. Guess I am just not bloodthirsty enough! I don't think I would ever go after Pearl, so this is definitely neat, and I await each others moves and counter moves.

Great result with the P40s. Never saw it like that before...

This mod provides for more Japanese carriers and naval air groups but at the cost of greater disbursement of experienced pilots. Pilot quality is less than what we all expect.

My Bombardment TF is intercepted, but I had hoped for better results.

No Kidding! At 1000 yards even old US BBs in 1942 should be able to hit an enemy DD! They just got their noses tweaked but thankfully, not their butts kicked by long lances. And the CL has no excuses for not burying the Japanese DDs in shells. [:(]

Need to have radar installed with 4/42 upgrades to truly help here.

That seemed to be really small losses for both sides on the Pearl sweeps considering how many aircraft were involved. I would conjecture
his operational losses to be high.

BTS "Lite" is BTS without the Yamato Class BBs. Instead, Japan gets two smaller 16" gun BB at start (CRB) and another two being built. ALL BTS, RA, and Treaty mods use DBB-C data as foundation which does mean that Cargo capacity is reduced by 1/3 for all ships. Japan starts with about 500,000 less in fuel. In USA, industry is about 1/3 to 1/2 damaged and needs some time to crank itself back up. In our game, it was hard to get any surplus supplies built up at San Fran through December. Now, i don't have any problems, but some industry will take through 42 and beyond to complete repairs.

His focus on Hawaii may come back to haunt him. At least I hope so. [:D] Plans are being worked on once Hornet arrives in mid-March to attempt to have a massive breakout from Pearl with just about every ship and hope some can survive. Details will be posted later.

DBB-C forces changes to Japanese thinking. Japanese players have gotten so used to being able to do OZ, PH, India, SoPac, Aleutians, often all at once. Unless John is doing something I'm missing, the economy can't handle it. I'm doing the math and it isn't adding up for Japan in my game. The reduced cargo forces use of almost double the "normal" number of cargo/tanker ships, which is a huge increase in demand on fuel. Ports have to be increased to handle the increased # of ships moving through it, increasing supply demands. I'm catching up to your game and I'm struggling to get things in order and cancelling some of the plans I had because of lack of fuel.

I am reading both AAR's so I cannot really give any specific suggestions.

However, knowing John, is there any scenario he has played against a player and not run into fuel and supply issues? Logistics is not his strength.

I figure John can do pretty much what he wants until about August/September time frame.

IMO, this time frame is where the American economy shifts from 1st gear into 2nd gear. It takes some time to get the big block 350cc V-8 going. [:D]

John loves his navy and I want him to use fuel to chase me when the time comes. Like you say, his fuel issues have got to be taking a bite out of him at some point. KB and his CVLs are north to NE of Pearl just steaming around. probably at cruise speed to conserve fuel, but they are still out there. He has over 120 ships disbanded at Hilo, so I think he hopes to starve me out at Pearl before invading.

However, knowing John, is there any scenario he has played against a player and not run into fuel and supply issues? Logistics is not his strength.

I got to know John back in old WITP days in his epic game vs Canoerebel in '43 when he almost ran his economy into the ground. I learned Tracker from Damian then and ran John's economy for most of rest of game. He has gotten better, but he is no Mike Solli when it comes to the nuts and bolts. [;)] He has started some games with his various mods, but ours is going the distance. His others haven't gotten through '43, so I don't think he is that planning far enough ahead. Capturing Pearl is probably going to feed his ego and his Narcissistic tendencies. I'm the mental health professional here, so it part of the reason I came up with my AAR title.
