Honestly I think you have the game his losses are very high for Germans to absorb per turn. That Tula pocket alone 10+ divisions. He had you on the ropes at the end of 1941 but think he was abit to careless with his flanks in 1942 with Tank corps/cav corps becoming available.

If Im causing more losses than the Germans get in replacements per turn im happy you are smashing 3x or more Axis forces than are getting replaced per turn, and removing unit after unit from his OOB....this is huge as then there are less axis units to inflict soviet losses, and you army grows even faster.

Im finding in 1942 I can easily absorb 100-200k losses every 2-3 turns if I need to. Now you dont want to do that every single turn but I look and think if I can stop the german offensive for a couple weeks or tie up all the armor for a couple week by burning 100-200k troops its not a bad plan. The Corps become the important units to keep intact at all costs as they are a very large investment in AP.

more german thrusts up the middle. lower units stuck behind lines were good quality. In bad spot.

Very heavy pressure. No way to withdraw. German units funneling in via Crimea.

Very south tip supplied by one hex corridor. Ugly and getting uglier.

Nothing to worry about up here.

Odd he got to cut off and then able to split unit into 3 way piece.

I wondered if lake-edge hex changed because it was more than 100 mp's.

oh wait I think recon was needed and he had a unit in the area near the lake. I found out when trying to move though area.

My planes up there were not happy at all and mostly did not want to fly.

All these past 15 turns I have been sneaking one unit undefended into Finland from the north edge.

It got all the way to the port just above Leningrad on the Finnish border (name escapes me at this moment.

I think he just surrendered without contact for being so far from home.

I had dreams of swift conquest.

B/c it was such a stealth attack, I have no pictures to show.

Well: [:o][:@][:-]

Doing a great job of reversal of fortune, TDV saves his trapped units at Orel, encircles very good Russian Tank corps

and now can threaten the entire lower map with devastation!

His forces were coming in from the NORTH. I told you so a few panels ago.

I did my best to contain the damage and move in sufficient CV to block a link up.

And get my troops out!

again the triple threat indicator in the box. For next patch? or not a mistake?

I surround his forward troops. It still very ruff and tuff in the middle.

German allies have started to rout very easily now.

The trap has been closed.

Northern Front, Northwest Front + 3 Western front Armies now cut off.

The right pocket north of Vologda will be closed and reopened all the next turns ahead. Barely.

His MP's to supply up here was very high.

OOB

His allies must be very low compared to other games. I like attacking them and they fall back.

Like I keep saying there is nothing wrong with the game or the players.

It is how we choose to fight, low/higher or historical loses are all possible.

WitE is not a book to be read or a movie to watch - it is the best game having to do with the Eastern Front that gives the players the ability to play the war out as the choose.

Looking forward to seeing the end result of all this massively risky play by both sides lol.

Alot will depend on if TDV can get all those pockets without losing more of his units to pockets. As you are looking at 1:1 odds axis vs Soviets soon if Soviet OOB lowers much more.

No GRAD today.

German breakout. Pl note my strong troops coming in to fill the gaps. Sent last turn.

I think large % of my army is cut off.

I will try to return the favor.

Q. Will I survive before mud sets in?

Im not so sure I agree with Pelton that TDVs situation is hopeless is alot of Soviets that are in pockets that it doesnt look like you can rescue. An basically the entire rest of your army is tied up trying to rescue the rest of the Soviet army which is in pockets you can open up but still probably wont get all of the troops out of in the long run.

Going to be interesting to see how this super high risk strategy game turns out lol

I freed my right pocket. that will be ongoing.

My cav unit ran into zoc of the split mot unit and thus pocket holds.

I show the MP of the upper left mot unit which has a very long supply line. ... (corrected)
