despite their claim
Tula has been liberated without a fight
With troops NE of Tula in disarray (no fort, clear terrain) it was too hard to hold the city. I knew I will have no time to fortify enough to keep the city, but the goal of November's attack was to destroy factories, so the operation was a success, despite that withdrawal.

28 guards in '41??? It's supposed to be maxed at 5% but I don't believe for a second that you have 500+ RD's! What gives? Ordinal number of destroyed guards not being reused?

Ginger- I believe with mild winter the Soviets get a higher guards % to help make up for much tougher Germans in the first winter.
I dont know what the higher % is but thats my understanding.

@chaos45: No, mild winter lowers the requirement for promotion or rather gives bonus to the roll. Or should, that is. As should playing with combat bonus: NONE (no +1).
@cpt flam: How many guards RD do you have on map in the last turn of '41, T28?

Cap your not in bad shape.
Sure he took Moscow, but he did not do much in the south. You saved more manpower then you would have lost if he did not take it and took what is normally taken in the south.
Be and interesting summer

You are going to be scarily vulnerable come March 1942. The bulges on either flank of Moscow both invite encirclement. The face of his salient at Moscow might be thinly held, and in that case, he can attack out of the face and create a situation where your lines get thinner and thinner on both flanks.
Long, thin lines and exposed salients are opportunities for the highly mobile Germans.
If you were to pull back in a timely fashion, especially in the North where there is nothing that much needs to be defended anyhow, you could give some depth and mass to your defenses elsewhere.

In March 1942 German units are useless, there is still strength penalty (even on Mild Blizzard) and they are low on morale and equipment after all this hammering during winter (I kept morale at better levels at the price of higher losses by retaking most of the hexes captured during Soviet turn giving me wins, and thus morale gains). My frontline was long, and I was unable to put panzers in reserve, so they spent winter fighting and are now at 45-65% TOE (especially infantry is missing). But Führer's orders were fulfilled - not one step back [:)]
