Germany has captured a new Battleship at Algiers. This could prove very useful in protecting Axis raiders in the Atlantic..

Tunisia
Axis forces have won a decisive battle in Tunisia, destroying a UK Corps and Army. Commonwealth forces are now on the defensive as their front line is diminished. As Italian and Spanish Corps' have garrisoned the Algerian ports in the Atlantic we must only look Eastward to push the Allies back into Libya.

The Hungarian 1st Army has reached the Gates of Moscow. Russian Tanks are entrenched near the City and will have to be defeated by the Germans before we can launch a full scale offensive on the Major City. Yugoslavian forces continue to hold the Northern flank admirably.

German forces have cleared the route to Stalingrad. Time is against us if we wish to capture the city before Winter. Northward Voronezh will soon be occupied, freeing my Tanks to either push Eastward towards Saratov or to support an offensive against Moscow or Stalingrad.

Germany has captured another Battleship. I may be able to actually challenge the Allies at sea.

German Tanks have won a major victory, devastating the Russian defenders and capturing the Major City of Stalingrad. With the city fallen the Russians will be hard pressed to defend the Caucasus and the rich oil fields ahead. Northward Germany has also occupied the city of Voronezh and have effectively forced the Russians far behind the protection of the vast Don Major River.

The Germans have pushed back the Russians continuous defensive lines and are positioned to begin the battle for Moscow. The major victory in the south will allow me to move German Tanks northward. My goal is to take city in the early spring/summer of 1943.

Finnish forces have surprisingly been able to destroy the defending Russian Tank formation near Lake Onega. Southward German forces have laid siege to the defending Corps trapped in the town of Volkhov.

Led by The "Engelbrecht" Division, Axis forces have captured Murmansk which should help halt the Winter convoys to USSR.

France
In France, German Engineers continue to build fortification in anticipation of an Allied invasion. Our local garrison is considerably weak at this point, with little threat of the Allies crossing the English Channel.

Oil
With our inability to make any gains in the Caucasus region or the Middle East, we are beginning to experience mild oil shortages lowering our overall MPP.

Moscow
Axis Forces are preparing for a final assault on the Russian capital of Moscow. I have re-stationed air forces from Tunisia and Stalingrad to support the assault, and gathered Tanks from our victorious Army Group South. This may be the final thrust to bring the Allies to her knees.

The Fall of Moscow
Even through the winter conditions, the Russians are no match for Axis air superiority and superb Tank formations which quickly overran the city.

Victory
Russia capitulated after losing all 3 of her Major City's and offered to sue for peace which I gladly accepted, ending the war in Major Victory!
Despite some painful mistakes In North Africa I was very happy with the outcome of this game.
I am happy I can return to making changes to this mod, which is developing at a nice rate. Expect to see Romania, and Finland as new Majors (removing Poland). I also believe the USSR AI needs some help, and perhaps a larger UK Navy is in order as well. Much to do, thanks all for reading!

Thanks for the AAR, it is very much appreciated, it is nice to see how others play the game on such high difficulty level.
And you have had some odd things happening: Spain being invaded, Yugoslavia joining Axis, Swiss taking gold... none of this happened in the 4 games I have finished so far. Good to see there is so much variety.

I have been following along on this AAR (along with some others) to help me decide if I want to purchase this game or not.
I have to say I am dismayed that the CW AI just seems to punch out ground units like crazy at a time when their fortunes should not be so good. The force in Portugal is large obviously along with what they had in Egypt in a force capable of destroying not only a reinforced Italian force, but DAK as well.
Thanks for doing this AAR.
Sorry, but I do not agree with the "punch out ground troops as crazy" statement.
The UK force in Portugal is very, very small compared to the German total force, at a time in the war when the UK was already fully committed.
To me, that force is more-or-less historical possible.
(I have always found it very odd that the UK historically waited for the US to liberate Europe, instead of attacking immediately after Germany invaded Russia, but soit).

Yugoslavia joining Axis is far from being a-historical.
They litterally just "joined" the Axis and then they had a coup. Their King simply opted to accept the coup instead of trying to crush it backed up by Germans.

Nothing odd about it. Had they done so - and presumably you are talking about landing in France - the small, under-equipped, British force that could have been so deployed would have been kicked off the continent within months at most.
And why do you say the US liberated Europe? I think you'll find the Soviet Union were largely responsible for that. The Commonwealth/US forces helped to finish off a Wehrmacht that, while still an effective fighting force, had been rendered
much weaker by Soviets.
