That Zero group that I wanted to move from Borneo to Wake didn't make it. He barely had enough gas to make it to Truk.
So that means I'll have to try one of the Zero groups in the Rabaul area as much as I need them where they are and
everything. I'll replace them with somebody in the Phillippines or somewhere.

Back in the back of my mind I didn't remember seeing a carrier named Ominato and I went to the OOB and sorted on Icon
type and scrolled to the carriers and didn't find an Ominato and then it dawns on me thats the name of a city in the
home islands. They aren't on a carrier they are in the Rabaul area as an independant group. I can fly them to Wake
if they will reach. I'll check that out and get back to you.

The Ominato unit made it to Wake but barely and I've got to keep that in mind when I start doing transfers later in the
game. Maybe a week or so from now. I want to replace all the tired groups with fresh ones at periodic intervals. To
give these guys every edge I can. They are trying hard to please me I might as well treat them well.

Attu in the Aleutians has a tiny problem. There's some Allied bombers at Kiska and I think they are in range to bomb
Attu in the Aleutians. So I'm thinking I need some fighters based there for the CAP to keep the bombers off the backs
of the infantry based there. So I need to find some fighters in the more northern home islands to make it all the
way up here almost to Alaska. I'll see if I can find one and get back to you.
Now that I think of it, I can use this base as my training base to go bomber plinking. I didn't see any fighter unit
at Kiska so maybe there aren't any and my planes will have free reign.

The CVL Shoho is going to be in the shipyards for another 30 days or so and her air group needs something to do so they
volunteered to fly off to Attu and run some bombing runs on Kiska. If they have the range to get there. I may have to
take the Shoho out of dry docks long enough to carry the Shoho air group within range of Attu to get them there.

Flash: Attu too far from the home islands.

I guess we won't know if they can reach Attu or not until next turn when they have more than 118 MP's left.

Air Report before combat shows missions of planes

Here's the full contents of the Air Report and the missions I have assigned to the planes.
Several of them are resting, maybe because they don't have any good targets, mostly to
refit. I'm going after the Allied equipment at Port Moresby and the Allied airfields
on Timor. I need to be able to move my units without huge AA TF's for cover.

BB Mutsu attacks Batavia CD guns.

I'm using a BB to take out the CD guns at Batavia so I can start landing troops there. That wil seriously start the
take down of Java. I've been driving ships around claiming open ports but so far haven't gotten a lot of troops on
the island. It's part of my plan to take over the world. I need Java to protect the DEI from invasions from Ceylon
or India. Or Broome, Australia. Thomas has some sea interceptors on Timor that are attacking my ships and I don't
dare put some naked troops in the water without some AA protection.

I had zoomed all the way out and was looking for water-borne targets when I spied this TF near Melborne. It's got one
major ship in it so I'm going to simply HAVE to chase it with my carriers. I'll see if I can't rake them together and
form a TF for the trip south.

Soviets are active

I was attacked by some Soviet units and so I guess the Soviets are active and fighting mad. So now I'm at war with the
Soviets. I'm holding my own so far so it's not too bad. I send an extra division to this area just in case but it
hasn't arrived yet. There may be a lot of them, I'm not sure.

EDIT2: Thomas Says HE Will. Okay, we're in business.
Larry if he's better and always beats you I'd recommend you play allied side since they have more resiliency. This will give us all a more entertaining AAR I think. Thank you for the AAR.

Yeah but he beats me when he plays the JAPS too. But I think you're right. I think he should do the AAR. You're
welcome as always. I wish Thomas would post more stuff in this thread, hint hint.

Here's what's going on in the middle to the west of Hong Kong in China. The Chinese are finding more people to garrison
the places I can't get to and it looks like I need another fresh division to help decide the issue.

Enjoying the AAR, thanks much.
I wonder why the scenario designer has shifted Canberra to the coast, ~100 miles from its actual location inland ...

I'd like to hear the answer to that myself. Maybe Thomas will chime in and illuminate us.

There's still some Allied units that need to be rounded up. I won't kill 'em I'll just make 'em do KP around the
chow hall.

I'm still in a shooting match against the CD guns at Batavia but the range of the BB is further and so the Japs have
an advantage. It's just a matter of time. I'm thinking about landing some troops somewhere else on the island and
sneak up on the guns via land route.
