Thanks EarlyDoors. I've been second-guessing my decision since conceding, heh. It's easy to get depressed when playing the Axis in 44/45.

I agree, Allied national morale was key to my chances to pull out a victory. Here's UK/USA national morale at game end:

Neither was falling as fast as I hoped. But both were, like you said, starting the death spiral. USA was below 75%. As a result unit morale for all USA units was multiplied by .90 every turn. UK wasn't far behind.

German morale was maintaining pretty well. Probably because of all the destroyed low supply Chinese units and sunk battleships:
