At Sevastopol the Romanian tank division got counter-attacked and pushed back again.

However this leaves the Soviet defenders in an exposed position. German infantry conducts a series of deliberate attacks pushing the Soviets out of position with some routing. Von Salmuth's Romanian cavalry rides through the gap and, assisted by strong German SUs, captures a lightly held Sevastopol.

Rain in the central sections of the front this week. It looks like a stroke of good luck next turn with a continental polar air mass keeping the September rains away from most of the front.

Krasnodar is pocketed and I'm securing a solid bridgehead towards Maikop. The Crimean troops are getting ready to cross at Kerch to support the advance.

Stalingrad has been reinforced but not enough. The northern flank is in the air and the city gets pocketed with 5-6 divisions.

Guderian puts Gorky into a ZOC lock. I have to be careful here as a very strong mechanized division is present. The surrounding units are reinforced with AT SUs.

At Leningrad this is probably the last turn with clear weather this year. However Hoepner's PG4 is well rested.

In heavy fighting Hoepner's troops finally break through multiple Soviet lines entrenched in good defensive terrain. Manstein secures the city itself in a surprise attack.

My good luck with September weather continues as a second continental air mass is expected to ward off the rain again next turn in all active areas of the front.
