Mogami offers some advice on my disaster at Lamon Bay that others would do well to heed:
"remember Japanese SNLF/NLF and Naval Guard units are almost 100 percent combat troops.
Most other units (RCT/BDE/DIV) contain 1/4 to 1/3 combat troops and the rest suport troops so when you see 3k Japanese and the units are the above you need at least 6k infantry to get 2-1 before adjustments. Also these units tend to have really good leaders (at least they do before I send them into combat) I don't think PI div have much more then 2k infantry so you'll need at least 3 of them.
And don't you think I considered that maybe you would move there?
When you plan on moving troops to unload in an undefended hex it is best to have a smaller unit (like a SNLF) land in advance and capture the hex so the follow on units
A. Unload faster using the port
B. Don't suffer disruption landing on enemy hex.
C. The enemy does not get intell on number of troops landing. (when you capture a base every unit already landed appears in combat animation whether or not they are actually attacking)"

How many of you have Saburo Sakai in one of their daitai? I started 2 PBEM games with the same starting turn and he's in both. As of 12 Dec 41 he has 2 kills in one game and 0 in the other. He has 99 experience.
