On the WITP side many ( most ? ) games have a house rule about this and interestingly some of the first "abuse" was this very hex, though at a different time and for different reasons .. but there is something about this hex that makes it popular !?

I concede defeat. My total navy was 2 BB 2 BC 3 CA 3 CL and 25 DD's.

My infantry units were smashed. I have no hope of victory. You have beaten me i bow to your tactics.

The version of the campaign we played was the one that was not tweaked. In the new versions it removed alot of INdian units & Chinese units to prevent them from being used to reinforce PI. I'd be up for playing a new version with you as the US or japan. Whichever you wanted. But maybe you playing Japan i'd get a taste of the way its supposed to be done. This was really a learning experience for me and i'm doing thinngs alot more differently in my other games.

It's not sour grapes or anything its basically that i know i was defeated and i tried hard to bluff you away from invading PI :) but that didnt work LOL.

Any new games though I will make house rules about no Amphib landings on none base hexes. No subs in enemy ports. And again only US/Japan until and IF :) PH falls.

Well fought. Hopefully we can have a rematch sometime. I know its a long war but i dont get any new capital ships. I don't mind fighting a 4 year war if there is still doubt in my mind that i have a chance to win. But i had so thoroughly destroyed my units it was crazy. When you left PH i had only 250 AP worth of units :) if you had bothered to attack me you would have seen how freaking weak i was LOL. Thank god i bluffed you into not attacking.

******************** to forums viewers.

I really had no chance with how much i burned up my navy and ground units.
In any new scenario too there are not any chinese units to move around. And i won't be attacking so wrecklessly. It was a nice experiment. I got alot of valuable game experience.

Billy is a tough foe anyway and i hope we get a rematch.

I think the best way to defend P.I. is to pour every ship, man and supply into Manilla and make it a strong hold. Have a few nice combat ships docked in Manilla along with a ton of DD's. Leave every other P.I. base undefended and invite him to attack, use your docked ships to make a surface combat patrol and smash up his AK's as much as possible then later when all his landings are done let him capture the crappy bases, and try to lure him into Manilla either that or just let him exhaust himself a bit then counter-attack. If he refuses to spread his forces to defend all the bases he captured (the ones you had no troops on) then take them back. Just go back and forth like that until he's absolutely frustrated. P.I. is far from the U.S. he's at a disadvantage. [:D] I don't know that might sound pretty newbish but it's what i'd do. He'd become pretty frusrated after a while if he didn't attack Manilla and he'd run out of supplies before you did then it's time to counter-attack. But this way you're almost certain to deny him P.I. should he try to invade it. Oh and i'm only on page.4 now so if i'm not taking practical difficulty into consideration tell me hehe.
