Not good news, this kind of stuff is never going to end.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6252276.stm[:-]

At least they got to it before it went off. There were some rumours of bomb attempts to coincide with Blair stepping down.

Just annoys me, "we" don't target civilians deliberately, because our "enemies" are frankly incapable of winning a stand up fight with our armed forces or those of Luxembourg for that matter! they feel its fine to kill civilians instead using indiscriminate nail bombs.

Ah!! Enough politics![:@]

That's the heart of the matter when people try to spout the lie that "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."  All crap!  [:-]

Freedom fighters don't ever deliberately target civilians.  [:@]

Year 48:

Consuls are Aulus Vitellius Germanicus and Lucius Vipstanus Publicola Messalla

The emperor Claudius invests Agrippa II with the office of superintendent of the Temple in Jerusalem.

After the execution of his wife Messalina, Claudius gets Senatorial approval to marry his niece, Agrippina.

Vitellius is a Roman Consul.

The Silures, with the help of Caratacus, revolt against the Romans in Britain.

Gallic nobles are admitted to the Roman Senate. Claudius grants the rights of citizenship to the Aedui.

The Hsiung-nu empire dissolves.

The emperor of China, Guang Wudi (Kouang Wou-Ti), restores Chinese domination of Inner Mongolia. The Xiongnu are made confederates and guard the Northern border of the empire.

The Annals of Tacitus covers a period of history that the Thread is about to traverse - starting with the death of Augustus and on, written by a guy who lived through the time... so i might be able to add a little more color to the history...

That's the reason I haven't posted. I cannot be trusted to make a sensible post as long as there is the chance for a cheap laugh [:-] Now that someone has got the inevitable out of the way I can feel free to post again [:)]
