Yes, that was one of those incidents. If I remember correctly, the Swedish government offered to help remove the ship but allowed the other side in to help.

The K-19 was offered help by the US Navy but the Soviet Navy was within one days sailing of her so the US offer was not accepted. To bad it was not as it could have helped lessen tensions much like Nikita having a farmer from the US State of Iowa visit to help improve the corn (maize) crop. Nikita then came to the US to help get improved Soviet pig/hog production going. Maybe they wanted more Spam and/or their version of it made in the US. That was much appreciated and helped to feed the people, in fact the people considered it a luxury item.

Recently, it's been way too muddy and wet out there to do much. The soil is mostly clay, so it doesn't absorb the rain or snow melt very quickly, and remains gooey for a couple of days. When more grass grows in, it will get better, and when we have the pool built, some grading and drainage work will need to be done at the same time.

I did cut down my first tree a week or so ago! Just a little guy of about 12 feet and 3 inches in diameter, but it already had 4 inch long thorns/spikes on it. [:D] 1 down, 10,000 to go!

I remember doing that once with a small spruce tree of about the same diameter. I used a 12 gauge shotgun with a slug round! You did get approval for a range in back of your place, no? [:D]

Just a couple of quick wraps of det cord around each little tree will make them go down a lot faster - 6400 meters per second!

My new place got a range...Texas state law says if you have more than ten acres and it is outside incorporated areas, you can do what you want and nobody can say different...

I wish! But, alas, no. I'm on the waiting list to join a shooting club with great facilities that is 4 miles from the house. Hope to get the call in March. [:)]
