If a guy with a towel on his head and an intolerant look on his face points a gun at you and asks "who is the mother of the Prophet?".......DO NOT SAY "Shufti bint" even if you think Jacspeak is really cool.

Funny thing is there was an English thoroughbred by the name Shufti Bint whose grandmum was Vestal Virgin, which is one of the USN AR's which starts at Pearl. [:)]

According to tradition, on her wedding night, Aminah's name was changed from Aminah bint Wahd to Aminah bint Laid.

I guess you would have to say it isn't Jackspeak then, but more general. Never would have guessed "bint" came from Arabic.

I think "shufti" came up earlier.

The DU has just announced she's looking into joining the RN. Just one snag - she doesn't know what she wants to join as.

My cousin did that in the USAF. I think she even did a government funded nursing program. She retired as a Major, I think. 20 years, then out in her early 40's with a pension. Lives in San Antonio and has PX privledges, health care, etc.

Never had kids, though, and the Air Farce told her where to go.

She also liked rock fights and sword fighting when we were kids. She would say things like "HALT!" when she wanted you to stop. Funniest damn thing you ever heard. [:D]

Maybe as a competent aircraft mechanic at the BBMF? There's a right scarcity of those, I'm lead to believe. [;)]

My Acupuncturist is a retired Air Force RN. She doesn't really fit in very well with the rest of the Acupuncture world which is mostly Liberal with a capital L. She likes me because she can talk politics with out having to bite her tongue.

BTW, she is not impressed with the health care she gets as a retired RN.

Okinawa/Kume Jima: KJ is now a level 1 strip so we send in some P-47's to cover the landing of some engineers. Interestingly, the P-47, despite being a high-performance beast, is a level 1 maint. number and therefore well suited to forward fields. Washington will bombard Naha tonight then Massachusetts the next night.

Miri: Diggers attack today. Their disruption is actually quite low.

Operation Sticky Green: Still loading at Victoria and Pearl. Troops at Dutch Harbor start loading today.

Moulmein: Evidentry, troops are loading.

They new people next door replaced their nativity scene with a statue of a boy in in big boots and an oversized baseball cap swinging a putter. It's shockingly tasteless but at least it's mostly hidden by the $10K mailbox.

Could be a worse. Could be a lawn jockey or a statue of Venus with pubic hair painted in.

We have the advantage that we can withdraw the hardest hit units and refit them, JJ has to stay in place and take his losses.
