Nobody else is chiming in so I'll suggest rightly or wrongly, does it have supply? (ACM)

Yes. It has everything. Supply at the base, fuel, disbanded in the port, and no damage. It is one of the YMS converted into an ACM.

Sorry Docup I have no idea. [:(] After seeing 2 MASSIVE BB TFs sail right through 350 mines without a single hit I gave up on mines defensively.

I concur with that kind of experience. And, I have had a single sub laid mine field in the Strait of Malacca sink a CA in one go! At friendly bases, those defensive mine fields are, AFAIK, presumed to be within some distance of the base. Seem most useful against invasions and certainly are useful against marauding subs. Surface bombardment groups get the option to bombard from a given distance. A wise player would not send BBs too close to shore when bombarding - they might hit mines!

China
We attack at Urumchi. We get a 1 to 1 but come out with 13 disabled squads for nothing. So they will rest a bit.
Burma
I guess Koniu did see my troops in the open. He sweeps and finds nothing. I had stood down my fighters due to high fatigue. His bombers do get caught up in my flak though. The hex east of Mandalay only has a Jap tank rgt. I have and Id and a Tank BDE. So I am attacking tomorrow. I have real tanks.
Solomons
2 Jap 2 DD TFs go after PT boats. Fergusson Island was the first to get hit. DDs and PT boats fought 3 different times with no loses. The next was Normanby Island. The DDs sank all 12 PT boats. They are still at those islands. I am going to try and go after them with my SAG. I see a 4 ship TF 6 hexs from Buna. I wonder if this is another CAP trap or a TF to go after the PT boats there.

Jap bombers attack my ships at night. Kates, Jills, and Helens all attack and do nothing. We bombard Ramree Island damageing a port that hasn't been built yet. Our ships shoot down several and damage many more.
Solomons
Our SAG runs into both DD TFs. We sink 1 DD and leave another with heavy damage. The other two are shot at and missed. Our SAG runs into a BB SAG and sinks an Omaha class CL and DD. We bomb Wau and tear up a SNLF coy.

Japs sweep and try to bomb my units moving to cut off Taung Gyi. 45 Georges and 45 Franks sweep, they meet my rag tag group. Air lost list show 13 Georges lost and 11 Franks, I watched the replay and bet its a little bit higher. 36 Helens are shot down also. We lose 14 Hellcats, 14 Hurri IIc, 13 P40K, 11 P39s, 4 P40N, and 3 Corsairs. My pilots had high fatigue and on LRCAP. I hope that Koniu lost some good pilots. No ground troops were harmed in this action. We attack and for the tank rgt to retreat from the hex east of Mandalay.

China
Japan sweeps Changsha. The Chinese fighter jocks put up a good fight. Georges tear through the CAP then the bombers come in and plaster the runways. Jap LCUs are now moving on Changsha. I think this is a little late in the war to do an offensive in China. Changsha has 6 forts with over 3100K AV. Air Loses 14 P40Es, 9 Hurri IIc, 8 Lancers, 5 Vanguards. Japs lose 13 Georges (6 A2A), a Nick and a Tojo.
Burma
Japs sweep everywhere and meet no fighters. They bomb our troops but do little damage.
Solomons
Swept but no air combat.
Maloelap

I also see that I have show down a bunch of Francis's and Helens.

How many Libs and Forts are in India/Burma?
What is your amphibious lift ability for the Indian Ocean?
Is this a primary theater for you in so far as offensive actions are concerned?
Asking because I have already bought out additional air assets (July '42) for the AO and am contemplating some ground forces as well in early '43. What keeps me in limbo is the long transit times of the transports and the terrain of southeast Asia in general. Oh yeah, and not to mention I'm losing China and substantial part of Australia now.

I have over a hundred 4Es in Burma. Amphib capabilities is low in the area. This is one of the few areas I can move around in without my CVs. So this is where I am moving at this time. Koniu also has a lot of troops in CBI. So lets keep them here.
I have a lot of US fighters here. Army, Navy, and Marines are also in this theater.
With him going after Australia, let him. Let him over extend his lines. Burn up his supplies fuel, HI and other stuff. The more he puts into Oz the more you can cut off and kill. People don't like give land for time but you can all give it for Jap fuel, and supplies. He has to defend all he takes. Wait and watch for weak spots then attack.
Side note. I think that people are getting use to historical settings. I think its time for a mod that moves troops around at the beginning of the war (both sides) also change some things for late war Japan. bump up some AC production for the US. The wars fought here are not historical.

From what I am seeing in the RA 6.0 mod it looks pretty good. I'd like to see a game, where both sides move troops around. IE Japan would make his/her strategy then move some troops around in the editor. Then the allied commander would move troops around at the beginning of the game. They could also tweak some units (by adding stuff or whatever) Have ships come in earlier or later depending on what the two player decide. Change the game around so the opponent doesn't know what to expect. It would take some work but I think it would be fun to play. Jap player wouldn't know what to expect when attacking in the early game and the Allied player might not know there is some extra CVs or something coming later. Have a no peaking on the other side HR.

Interesting perspective. I can't really envision a US prepared any better as far as OOB. I think congress and the European theater had FDR hog tied. I think some interesting alternatives with the British are possible. Perhaps once a scenario is chosen there could be some deeper R&D choices which would remain secret. I'd like to see the whole Chinese AO changed, from the map to the deployment to the stacking, and the combat. The Burma map is also highly lacking in my opinion. I really wish we could have a better land combat system. I would like to order delaying actions, bridge destruction, and recon by force options. Hey I'm just rambling.[:)]

My thinking goes to a better prepared America before the war starts. Nothing way out there. Japan pulled out of the Washington Naval treaty in or around 1936 I think. The writing was on the wall in 1940 about the war. So US recruits more soldiers to fill out some of he small outpost units or other units. What happened to all the obsolete AC at the beginning of the war. So maybe some more P26s or so. Maybe some ships get upgraded or actually built. same thing goes for Japan.

Urumchi DA goes off at a 2:1 Japs lose nothing.
Changsha
Bombed by air and now had 24 Jap LCUs knock in the hex. 7 forts with 3100 AV in the hex all 100% prepped for Changsha. Supply is ok could be better. Still not sure what he is doing here. Why is he attacking this late in the war? It will be hard for him to take this city. I can bring in more troop fairly quickly.
Burma
Troops moving to cut off Taung Gyi supply lines.

What would be really interesting, but I don't know if its possible, would be for an alternate setting scenario where basically there are 3/4 alternative setups for each side, one being chosen randomly upon loading by the computer. then the game starts and the players have to adjust...

Koniu just emailed me. He said his tracker is showing he lost 47 AC and I lost 33AC. That's about half of my planes. I think tracker is high on my loses. I only had about 75 planes on CAP. I hope he lost a lot of good pilots.
So any thoughts on the Changsha move?

Unit Supply
a unit with 100% supply has its unadjusted assault value multiplied by 1
a unit with 75% supply is multiplied by 0.8
a unit with 50% supply is multiplied by 0.6
a unit with 25% supply is multiplied by 0.4
a unit with zero supply is multiplied by 0.25
Fortification Level
fort level 0 = 1x unadjusted assault value
fort level 1 = 1.1x
fort level 2 = 1.25x
fort level 3 = 1.5x
fort level 4 = 1.75x
fort level 5 = 2x
fort level 6 = 2.25x
fort level 7 = 2.5x
fort level 8 = 2.75x
fort level 9 = 3x
The divide by 30 rule only gives you an idea of the enemy's unadjusted assault value. I'm not so certain that you have to match that estimate, which is before modifiers and the effect of the fire phase in combat, with a close estimate of your own adjusted assault value.
