[ADDED DB pre-v436]

I am working on an Operation Morvarid (Pearl) Scenario, which would need two Cape-class PCs included in the database for Iran (Iran received 4 in the 1950's). According to the COA Naval SITREP #37. Oct 2009, the stats for the PC in HARPOON IV are as follows:

Cape Class PB:
Displacement: 85 tons
Size: VSmall
Propulsion: Diesel
Signature: Vsmall/Noisy
Weapons:
A 1 X Mk3 40mm/60 Aft
F X 2(4) 2 Mousetrap

Mousetrap gear replaced by F (2) 1 ZU-23/2 AA gun in 1980'S (probably after Morvarid)

MQ-9 Reaper loadout.

Unable to post links/images yet, however if you head over to "foxtrotalpha dot jalopnik dot com" and read Tyler's article entitled "Drones In Afghanistan Have The Most Advanced Aerial Surveillance Ever" there is a photograph of the Gorgon Stare Increment II pods on a taxiing Reaper providing increased wide area surveillance.

Note the system is multi-spectral and the two pods provide stereoscopic vision for parallax/range estimation.

EDIT: Another article entitled "USAF image appears to show Gorgon Stare Increment II in Afghanistan" at "janes dot com" features further photographs and information.

...If I could, I'd like to suggest an addition to the B-52G nuclear loadouts. At least from 1983 on, standard alert load for the BUFFs was:

4x B28 or B83 (by '85, most if not all the B28s were gone)
8x AGM-69 SRAM
12x AGM-86B on pylons

Let me stress that this was the alert load, so it's possible that EWO loadouts were somewhat different - but during exercises (I was assigned to the 379th BMW at Wurtsmith, '78-'84) we had enough weapons and pylons to load all the aircraft. Loadout 6842 (4x B28, 8x AGM-69) is absolutely correct, but only up to the time an individual bomb wing stood up with AGM-86.

Also, the ready times seem a little long - we routinely loaded the entire wing (IIRC, 12 to 15 birds, depending on whether or not we had any at depot) from a standing start in less than 24 hours.


Just my .02 - love the game and look forward to every upgrade.

Would it be possible to add the Chinese Type 093G SSN? There have been a couple articles recently suggesting that China has built a new variant of the Type 093, which carries YJ-18 missiles in a VLS launcher and has a new hull form. Perhaps we will get more information in the next few days, but in the meantime, would it be possible to get a Type 093G which is slightly quieter and carries a VLS with, maybe, 16x YJ-18s?

Forum won't let me post links yet (not enough posts), but there was an article in The Diplomat on 4/6/2015 by Franz-Stefan Gady called "China's 'New' Carrier Killer Subs" in their 'Asia Defense' section. The original report is apparently from Chinese media.

The bulk carriers need some bulking out - they're one of the most common classes of civil ship, but there are only 3 (rather smallish) classes in the DB.

This (slide 7) is a high-level set of classifications of bulk carriers.

I would suggest adding the following classes:

* Supramax [50000DWT], example
* Panamax [70000DWT], as there are a LOT of them, example
* Very Large Bulk Carrier [150000DWT], example

These cover the overwhelming majority of what bulk carriers you see in AIS data, providing a richer commercial maritime environment.

Do you have a source on that? The only verification of that number I can find is on wiki, and the source it's quoting is a Russian page that 404s.

Minor database correction. DB3000 Weapon (CBU-105 using the CBU-97 with LU-108/B anti-armor bomblets) is listed as being used against land targets or soft mobile vehicles. The manufacturers’ brochure (http://www.textronsystems.com/sites/def ... -small.pdf) lists targets as "lightly and heavily armored vehicles, .... SFW also has maritime interdiction capabilities with deepwater, littoral and shoreline functionality to engage amphibious vehicles, fast attack boats, hovercraft and small naval vessels." Possibly increase the valid targets to include mobile units (hard) and surface ships.

The valid target issue with the LU-108/B Anti-Armour bomblets also affects the AGM-154B JSOW (ID #827) which carries 6 submunitions containing the 4 skeets pictured above.

All of the C-130J aircraft engines are listed as having only "2x AE2100D3".

This should be 4x.

Looks like only the J variants are affected.

It it possible to update the map with new island reclamation's by china? I know it's a work in progress so any changes now will likely need to be updated soon. If this is a possibility I will try to post more info.

I'm pretty sure that anyone who knows the AIM-120D's real operational range also knows that it's classified...

Sting Ray Mod 0 and Mod 1 (weapon id's #1397 and #1596) are spelled incorrectly. The product name on BAE Systems website is two separate words.

Canada: 2 aircraft that i think should be added to database.
CF-101 Voodoo. It flew in front line air defense till December 1984.

CP-107 Argus. It flew missions till Mid 1981 (last misssion July 1981).
