Strategic bombing: None

Ground Strike:
Germany

The Luftwaffe employ 4 Stukas to attack Paris (x2) and the hexes NW and NE of the capital (1 each). The French have a 4-factor fighter NW of Paris and an AA unit in Paris. The Germans can reach all three hexes with just about all their fighters. What do the French wish to do?

I don't think the French have to commit the AA yet do they? Fly the French fighter in defence of Paris. I hope Mayhemizer will be happy with this.

Sounds good. Fighter lands to Paris.

AA does not fire.

Allied: 11 (DC) - The stukas of StG3 evade the French fighters and vector in on the French capital
Axis: 4 (AX) - The French pilots valiantly search for the bombers but are pounced on by the 'Hun in the Sun' and destroyed. The pilot survives.

Ground Strike (cont):

And so to the ground strikes themselves. I'm going to simply ask the die roller for 30 numbers and these are then to be applied in the strict order that the program does the battles in.

The first hex the program has chosen is the one NW of Paris and one hit is obtained.

Rail Movement:
Japan

The Imperial Guard rail from Changsha to Peking.

Germany

The Munich MIL is ordered to rail north to protect Kiel and environs

Land Movement:
Germany

The German army form a ring around Paris. There is to be no attack on Paris as the odds are just too low. Instead a (hopefully) slightly more advantageous attack is planned for northeast of Paris. This will utilise the bulk of the German armour, now under von Rundstedt, while von Bock is ordered southwest to oversee the largely infantry force south of the French capital. von Leeb in the west has been given responsibility for forces west of the Seine and up to Rouen in the north.

Over to Ormster for the rest of the impulse.

A German division moves from La Spezia to Nice. The two Italian land moves are used to concentrate against Marseilles. Japanese forces reorganize their lines a bit, but the bad weather really hampers movement.

Italy attacks Marseilles.

Germany attacks the French tank Army northeast of Paris.

The Italian fleet adds 7 points in shore bombardment to the attack on Marseilles. This brings the attack to 30:3.

The German attack is 70:17 or slightly above 3:1+1 at this point. Does France wish to add defensive HQ support?

France uses all they have: HQ and bomber landing where it starts.

Ok. Just want to tell you that the bomber can be used for the Marseilles attack as well. Albeit at extended range. Although Italy has a 4 strength fighter on standby.

I'll give it a couple of minutes before sending the French bomber to assist the French tanks. Just in case France missed that the bomber could be used to support Marseilles.

The German army continues to close the circle on Paris. (Note that without the successful HQ support the German forces would have remained organized)

The remaining French units surrender because no retreat is possible.
