Have returned from deep recon mission up the coast and have suffered greatly from wine tasting stops.

Interestingly, several of the wineries with medal-winning cabernets, for example, are making really good
Bordeaux style blends but they can't call them like that so they don't market well because there is no place to put
them in stores. They only sell them at the winery.

Have applied for purple heart for trying to keep up with a the nieces and nephews at parents wedding anniversary celebration at a dude ranch. Sweet Baby Jesus, those kids can drink.

I am also going for a purple heart cluster for the Fanny Bay oyster SG made me eat. They were on special for $11.99 a dozen and they tasted superb..very fresh. I'm just not sure what was fresh.

Now, as for map errors.

1) There are no SeeBees around Port Hueneme. Based on the stack there, I should have hit several strays on the 101 freeway.

2) Camp San Luis Obispo (221,75) is pretty much gone too.

3) There is a naval station at Big Sur (219,73) just in case the Japan-mens try to land with rearry, rearry big radders.

4) Fort Ord is just Egrets and bike trails now.

Too bad you didn't drop by the Point Sur Light house. At one time a small town existed only to support the light house. Supplies came by sea. You could have shown he N and N's how lucky they have it now. Very well run tour when I was there. Used to be a Naval listening station next door.

I tried to go to the Piedras Blancas light house in Cambria but they were locked up. Evidently they imagined I would make ground chuck out of the elephant seals.

Portuguese...err..no..half Japanese, half American Timor: A stupid staff flunkie forgot to write down there was a whole regiment of LYB infantry at Dili and another staff flunkie
moved the USMC regiment garrison at Lautem. [:(]

Hope the LYB's don't attack, all there is a USMC Def. Bn.

Luzon: We finished off the IJA 23rd Tank Regiment near Cabantuan. It was fun...and good practice for all the P-40 drivers.

Saw the Vulcan up close and personal when it was still in service and came over to display at the Toronto Air Show.
I was stationed at CFB Trenton where the Vulcan and other birds practiced and flew the Toronto mission. Sitting at the end of the
runway just outside the perimeter fence when the Vulcan took off and put in full power for a steep climb - the very ground trembled.
The power and noise of those engines was incredible.

No wonder they guzzled so much fuel that the Falklands raid required something like 8 air-to-air refuelling sessions per Vulcan! That
just made the raid more remarkable.
