I thought the '8' was a DA, hence the comment above. If it is NE, then Italians stay for another round.

The Z.501 will abort, yes. It can go to Cartagena, thanks.
warspite1

What about the fighter?
I suspect that there was a misunderstanding here.
warspite1

I suspect so. I have not aborted the bomber until AllenK confirms

Stay and fight another round, with both.

Right AX - the Indian fighter is shot down, as is either the Italian fighter or bomber. Its bye bye to the ugly Gabbiano...

The Italian pilot is swimming with the fishes. I am not sure about the Indian as I don't know what counts as a friendly sea zone.

The French decide to remain in the sea area - what does Zara and the Re.2000 want to do?

I guess it's too late to say the Italians changed their minds and wanted to go with the original abort [:D].

Not at all. So long as you are equally as understanding about the fact we didn't want to do a combined with the French in Impulse 2 Sep/Oct 1939 - so perhaps we should go back?

That was a brutal air combat round.

The Allies do not bring aircraft in. The Italians have a fighter and a SM81.

The Allied roll a 2 and the Axis a 6.

The French fleet target the heavy cruiser Zara as she gets separated from her fighter escort in poor weather.

The Allies use their surprise points to increase Axis losses (2) and decrease their own (4).

Why am I not being asked to throw? The destroy button is highlighted.

The hapless Zara has her guns facing toward the threat from the French cruisers, on her starboard quarter when suddenly out of the blue, 13-inch salvoes start straddling her. Within minutes the French gunners aboard Dunkerque find their target and half an hour later the cruiser is reduced to a burning hulk.

Zara never got the chance to even fire her main armament at her tormentors.
