One question was to name the place where 150+ British troops fought off 3-4000 Zulu warriors in 1879. I still remember playing the Rorke's Drift game on my old C64.
Thats easy. But what was the name of their tenor. [:'(]
IIRC, there's a damned good chance that his family name was Evans.

And finally, I've been playing Total War: Shogun 2. It's pretty, but seems unstable on my rig. If any of you guys want it, you might want to wait for the first patch.
Sounds exactly like Empire TW when they released that. Took half a year before they had it stable. Avoiding that game company since then.
I have to say, Per. You were mostly right about it. After a bit my interest in it waned. I'm still a bit annoyed at how limited the tactical model is when there was such a wealth of possibilities. Is Napoleon any better?
Have no idea. As I said, after that abysmal experience with Empire TW, I've avoided them. I will not reward mediocrity. If I ever buy something from them, it will be as USS Mike says, from the bargain bin.

Who said that playing wargames is of no use? Just finished a match in a quiz league I'm participating in. Have to answer eight questions in max two minutes. Mixed multiple choice and "writing" questions. One question was to name the place where 150+ British troops fought off 3-4000 Zulu warriors in 1879. I still remember playing the Rorke's Drift game on my old C64. Another question was what name the current Indonesian capital of Jakarta formerly had - that's Batavia [;)] ... and the third question with direct bearing on my hobby was what code name for the German assault on Moscow in 1941 had [;)]
Questions are drawn at random. Quite lucky with the draw this time. [:D]
ETA: Not always lucky with the draw. Remember the first time I had a match against a guy who is a surgeon. Of course we had to have four questions directly related to anatomy and/or medicine. Lost that match [:'(]
ETA2: I misremembered the platform for the Rorke's Drift game - played it on the Amiga.
I know that my knowledge of World Geography , however good it is, is much better for having poured over a LOT of maps for 30 years [:)]
The older I get, the more convinced I become that there are bits of useless information fighting to the death with other bits of useless information for the possession of my brain. It took me a full minute to come up with the word Typhoon. [:D]
Slacker. [:D]

Thread, there's a lot of spambots on the forum at the moment. Management seems unwilling or unable to clear them out in a timely fashion and morons keep responding to them, drawing more.
This place is becoming untenable.
I only know of a couple that post in THE THREAD!!! [;)] [:'(]
According to your post count, youre one of them. [:'(]

Napoleon is essentially just Empire with a new skin. It has the same problems.

Tech Support in Tampa, FL, USA
Customer: “I am highly dissatisfied with the support I have received so far. I expressly asked for a red system. This is silver.”
Me: “Sir, this is technical support.”
Customer: “I know it is! My system is supposed to be red!”
Me: “Did you order it red?”
Customer: “The sales person didn’t tell me different colors were available.”
Me: “You should probably talk to sales. I can transfer you.”
Customer: “Is this the kind of support you guys offer? I have a problem here.” Me: “Sir, is you computer functioning?”
Customer: “I’m sorry?”
Me: “Does your computer turn on?”
Customer: “Yes.”
Me: “Does it connect to the internet?”
Customer: “Yes.”
Me: “Do all of your programs load?”
Customer: “Yes.”
Me: “From a technical stand point, is there anything wrong with your system?”
Customer: “Technically, it’s not red.”

Oddly enough, I've never seen those types of games in the bargain bin.

Windows open with a warm breeze blowing through the house, NCAA Basketball Tournament on the big screen, fresh, hot cup of coffee at hand, and I'm off to do battle with the Space Chickens in the Pacific. [8D]

Too soon to say with certainty, Onime. As I said, it's got some stability issues, so I've put it on a bit of a backburner until it gets patched.

There's not one square centimeter of Libya that's worth one drop of European or American blood. So no, Hortlund, (you stuck-up, holier-than-thou git) I don't care.
It seems our beloved over-acting president decided the contrary, willing to show his muscles and what he has in the pants; Sure he is trying to make us forget that he was a bit late to react about Tunisia .
I hate governement of all kind, of all country. It seem there exist NO political guys able to be reliable...

Well, gladiatt, the requirements for a political job don't attract quality individuals. So you are right.
