I would argue that a barbarian can also be a Gentleman. And in most cases the Barbarian is one.

The US Federal Government used to make people Gentlemen as well as Gentlewomen by an Act of Congress but they no longer do so. I was never made a Gentlemen by an Act of Congress nor my own acts. After all, I let the ladies go first so I can stare as much as I want!

I do not need the Government to tell me who is a Gentleman, or who is not. I can spot a Gentleman without aid.

Besides, I am the one who decides who I consider a Gentleman. No one else has that privilege.
