Allies Turn 8:
Nothing too special to report. I've eliminated all but 1 of the NVA in I Corps. The support elements for the independant brigades have arrived and this turn I received the first installment of of the field battalions from the 82nd Airborne. Been converting lots of hexes over to Allied control. Larry doesn't usually leave his VC on board (but he left a company in Binh Dinh this turn for some reason) so the only way I can figure out where he has been is to know that the territory was Allied on the previous turn.
In the Central Highlands the NVA is shelling elements of the ARVN 22nd Division that had moved foward to take up positions along the border. I had nothing in the area to for counterbattery fire so I called in a B-52 strike. The effectiveness was dimished due to the monsoon but I managed to eliminate the enemy artillery unit and did untold damage the HQ unit that was stacked with it.
Down near Saigon the VC have taken to destroying bridges on the outskirts of the city and attacking unescorted artillery units. So now I have to provide escorts for artillery maneuvers and hold some troops in the capital for security. Thus goes the war in Vietnam.
The Victory level is still at -10 which is not good since it adds a point to the EEV every other turn. So I've decided to begin the economic aid program to South Vietnam. I'll run it for about a year and then reevaluate. Just want to get them back on their feet.

The Thua Thien Pol Sec and a rocket unit were spawned just south of Hue and I
decided to bombard once and disband them both. I needed to move the Pol Sec one hex
north to expose some targets for the rocket unit:
