Well, that was a nice German summer offensive. Looked like we were watching the summer 1942 offensive [:)]

Let's hope this is the trend (a weak Red Army). On MY game included [8D]

The caucasus are easily defensible if you fall back to the Terek and the foothills. From there on the German has to slog through wretched terrain with dubious logistics.

Reinforcing them is a bit of a pain though once the rail lines are cut. I can't agree with just abandoning the whole place.

I agree that the Soviet has the advantage down here so long as the rail lines are held. Logistics for the Axis are slow coming and by the time there well established the Soviet player can probably launch a counter offensive in late 42 early 43 to put the Axis on hold.

However this position will be hard to recover from unless the Soviet player can react with enough mobile strength to isolate and pester my panzers and protect his rail line from being cut.

What is the weather setting for the game? If it is random, I would throw my hat in the ring.

I have too many games going to take it, but it looks interesting.

Hard to 100% tell from this side, but the Reds here appear to be in not bad shape. They hold Leningrad and Moscow, and though that move into the Caucausus looks like a bit of a runaway, it's not going to help Carnage much when he has to go to the defensive. The Red Army has nearly 7 mil guys.

What Flavio's trying to say is that there is no more dangerous job in the world than being a crewmember aboard one of my dwindling (since patch 1.05.42) fleet of recon aircraft.

Sorry Carnage, but I don't do non-random weather. The game looks really interesting, and a bit of a challenge for the Soviets. If only the weather permitted...[;)]

That would be nice Timmyab thanks for the offer, I really don't think the Soviets are in that bad of a position...well the break in the center near Moscow is a critical area. I don't think the game is lost for the Soviets, Moscow may fall I don't know [&:]

To make my position clear:

1. I initially proposed that we wait for a fix to the March Madness bug and resume from our February '42 turn.

2. After some debate via email, we agreed not to do that but to continue.

3. Finally, by June '42, the impact of the March Madness bug was so great that the game had become a red vs. blue fantasy for me. I'm just not motivated to play that as life is too short.

I am always up for a historically plausible game, win or lose.

For some reason I had been thinking the battles around kharkov in mid may ocurred in March, old age memory failure most likely. That was what I was basing my opinion on anyway.

I am curious to learn whether any Soviet player has happily gone through the March-June '42 period without a major concern about the CV issue?
