Fix the ally problem. One should be able to un ally without declaring war.

I am so glad we are finishing game 22, and will check out game 23 when it forms.

+1 on the "ally problem" fix. Going from allied to neutral is so much better than allied to belligerent.

The Soviets can confirm the excellence of the German fighters! My night fighters, and I have a lot, also suffered from turn after turn of Germany shaking us with night bombers without contesting the night skies.

The allied problem is hardcoded. Only if ernie makes a card.....you now....I´m horrible at coding.
Next version 70% done. Aircraft range will decrease somewhat, since I reviewed the data and most aircrafts had their ranges overestimated. So the 100% interception range still will need wise placement of fighters. Tanks will (hopefully) be more vulnerable.

Just for information the German Night fighters based in Paris are 100% readiness the airbase attacked by the British night bombers is adjacent to Paris so the Interception chance is 90% so the odds of the Night Fighters failing to intercept are 1 in 10. Same applies to the day fighters based in Paris all the fighters are 100% readiness the infantry army devastated by the unopposed British air raid are adjacent to Paris so again the chance of interception should be 90% again 1 in 10. So in effect the British rolled the equivalent of two ones on two one to ten dice rolls.

And of course I am saying the British rolled reality is the rolls would have been German to intercept.

...For a grand total of 1%...chances of the two raids not being intercepted
What I was unable to simulate is what would happened if only raid 2 was intercepted (9% chances). I will repeat the turn a few more times to see....

Looks like cpdeyoung has called it on game 22.

I am not quite sure what this means, so to be explicit I want to continue play as the Soviets in Game 22. I also will certainly consider playing in Game 23 when it forms.

I did not want to play in a "restart" game to replace Game 22, because I felt we had invested too much in Game 22 to give up.

Yes I will continue with current game and work it up in the next two days.

My comment above was followed by
I am so glad we are finishing game 22, and will check out game 23 when it forms.

And of course Bombur's comment
From what I understood, ironduke agrees to continue our current game with the 75/90 interception rule. Is that right?
If this is our agreement, I will stop work in the next version of Bombur mod, in order to make a series of changes to GD9138, to be released soon.

The Soviet Union is in a two front war at this point, but there are Allies standing with us.

Losses still low as nations jockey for position.

The calm before the storm.....

The entry of Japan in the war puts the British Empire in a difficult situation. Resources from India that were being sent to the North African Front now are being spared to be used against Japan. It´s likely we will lose the Dutch East Indias and also Brunei and Palembang. Our japanese foe is somewhat reluctant on taking the war to British areas. They don´t understand that their treacherous attack on USSR threatens the very survival of Great Britain. In the Spanish Front, Italy attaempted an assault on Barcelone, reppulsed with heavy losses, but the city is in ruins. Reinforcements are being rushed to Spain. The Germans retreated from Le Havre....for now, we are reinforcing our defenses in North France, as we feel we lack tanks enough to start an offensive to liberate France. We are worried that the Soviets lost Vladivostok and Japanese are advancing deep in Siberia.

The people of China wish to protest the unprovoked attack of a Chinese Air training mission by aircraft of the Japanese Carrier Fleet stationed in the waters just south of the British city of Hong Kong. This attack took place in Chinese airspace, almost 40 km due north of Hong Kong. We are pursuing all diplomatic options at this time and exercising restraint as we wait for the Japanese response to the loss of innocent Chinese pilots lives.

Just about finished working up Germany 22T43 when I got moved on by my wife as it happens, and lost the work I had done, sorry about that will start from the beginning, and as I speak I am being shunted out of the door to look at a interesting building at the end of a 6K route march. Never had these problems in the US.

No change this month again the Spanish front is static with large numbers of French units in Barcelona and Madrid the Italians are doing there best but the forces are almost equally matched.

France L'Havre is still held by the British who resist the efforts of the three SS armored units in France the 23rd infantry Army are recovering from the British air attacks last month and are in and around Paris. The 2nd SS Panzer army are forming in France created by the stubborn determination of the British to maintain a foothold on the continent.

The Soviets are quiet at the moment but we can only guess at the strength forces now arrayed to the east against Germany.

The Red Army is indeed quiet on the German front. We are fighting a two front war so we are getting some exercise in the Far East.

The Soviet Union was never weak in the Far East, and we did not expect Japan to declare war. It just does not seem worth it to fight over such barren lands. Some would say if it is not worth attacking then it is not worth defending. The Soviet Union has a steadfast alliance with China, and with France and Britain, and part of our presence in the Far East is to support our allies. We rather suspect the Japanese are more interested in Chinese and European property in the Far East and Pacific and are only doing a spoiling attack on the USSR. We find the Japanese well kitted out with Art3, HvTnk2, and lots of halftracks. We expect a vigorous offensive from them.

Are we updating to the new version?
Bombur has worked hard and has now done an update for GD 1938. It is now v221u.

The changes are:

1-HP for armoured units decreased by 20%
2-Range of aircraft recalculated, considering a 150km hex
3-Interception chances now are 100%

I hope you will find this new version much more realistic. :)
