There seems to be a very slight delay when using the mouse wheel or clicking that didn't seem to be there before, its no biggy, the game for me at least is still very playable :)

Like you say, has anybody else had any slowdown?

Am I the only one whose game completely crashed after installing the B815 update?

Yeah no reports of this yet.

Can you confirm you correctly unzipped the contents into your command folder?

Thanks

Mike

Yes, it's been properly extracted. When I start up the game, I just get a blank screen. Screenshot is attached.

Have you tried re downloading and installing again?

Try deleting your command.ini file in your root directory.

Sorry but just running through the list of things it could be.

Did you delete the ini file?

Steam or Matrix version?

English or non english windows? What version (Win7, 8, 10?)?

Thanks!

Mike,

I would be happy to send you a save file, but I'm not sure it's going to be of any help, since there is no one point in time when it becomes sluggish - it's sluggish from the very beginning. The problem first appears when loading a scenario. I just reinstalled 815 and loaded "Down Town". The Side selection and briefing comes up and then the Realism Settings sub-window appears over it - but only partially. At this point, everything freezes until - and here it has stalled with the Realism Settings sub-window only partially installed (weirdly it is only partially overlaid on the Side selection sub-window. Once I start the game, the windows disappear, but everything is glacial - except, if I access the dropdown menu in Time Compression, the time compression feature works better than I have ever seen in work - it really speeds up the game.

I just did another test, loading Take It Brave York. It loads up to the Side selection and briefing sub window which is not completely drawn (there are rectangular cutouts and in place you can see through to the Load Scenario window. Interestingly, in the upper left, the windows banner still shows that Down Town is loaded. If I move my mouse, the Load Scenario window disappears and the Side selection and briefing window is then complete. When I click "Enter Scenario", I get a Command Warning that Area Validation for support mission 'Air Traffic' has FAILED. When I click ok, it disappears as per normal. This takes me to the "Realism Settings" box as per normal. When I click Discard Changes and Start, nothing happens. The box stays on the screen, but it won't let me click the button multiple times, so that window is frozen. If I move my mouse around enough, the box disappears. Once I hit start, the game start, but it nothing happens for 4 to 6 seconds. I counted to 36 before the Zulu Time advanced 1 second. The game ran normally for 12 seconds and has gone glacial again. I then accessed the Time Compression dropdown menu and man, it's like it's on jet fuel! Usually time compression is a little more sluggish than the degree of compression states.

I also thought it might be related to Microsoft's update of last night (they also updated Windows 7) - but when I reverted to Build 811, everything ran fine. If you would like to send me Builds 812, 813, and 814, I would be happy to load them one by one and see if the slowdown is triggered in one of those builds.

Sorry for such a long message - it's a difficult issue to describe.

Using the Matrix version. Windows is in English

And if it helps, just loaded Trapped Under Ice. Same slow load/incomplete Side selection windows issue. This time after I clicked start, I counted to 61 before anything happened. Stopped the game after 17 seconds and when I hit start again, nothing happening until I move the mouse around or hit time compression.

I also think something is going on with my mouse commands - sometimes I have to click multiple times to access the dropdown menus, etc.

It's the Command.ini file. I deleted it and the game ran normally.

I have, however, managed to re-create the problem. When I go into the Game Options Menu and change the setting on Map Cursor Databox Visibility from the default (show on cursor) to Do not show, the problems re-appear and the game slows down dramatically. (But it doesn't seem to be a problem if I set it so that the Databox shows on the bottom.)

The first time around, I uninstalled the game and then manually deleted the entire installation folder with the .ini file in it.

As for the game version I'm running, it's the Matrix version, CMANO with Northern Inferno WOTG expansion.
I was able to run the builds up to 1.11 RC14, but after RC15, I had to uninstall and reinstall to get the game to work again. The system I'm running is a Windows 8.1.

The game ran fine on build 1.10 after re-installation, and I tried installing RC15 for a second time. It caused the same problem. I deleted the .ini file after installing RC15 but that didn't have any effect.

Let me know if you need any more information.

Ok thanks guys for being so good about answering these questions.

What's you're DPI/text size? Running at 100%, 125% or greater?

Thanks!

Mike

Can we please get these issue reports on separate threads on the tech support forum?

It's very hard to keep track of issues when they're piggy-backing on existing threads. See also HERE.

Thanks!
