Man, I can't wait for Steve's reply!! [:D][:D][:D]
What's to say? We agreed to face off in this grudge match before Christmas. I am beginning to suspect that I'll be in either a nursing home or the graveyard before I ever see a turn. Scientist tell us that dinosaurs were not really slow. This one is slower than anyone in a old Harry Hasenhouser film. He moves with a Brontesaurian dash speed. While I intend to possibly use delaying tactics , I'll at least use them IN THE GAME , not to delay the game it's self. I expect that if Geoff could figure a way to delay by discussing the size or shape of the negotiating table he would. So instead of engaging in pseudo trash talk encompassing Italian movie stars , bad literature or photoshopped movie and TV stills, I'll go back to studying the maps , AAR's and game databases. The longer he delays , the better prepared I'll be. [:D]
Someone said it takes 100 hours for the Japanese first turn. I believe them.
I don't think they meant Gorn-hours. On Venus one day = 5,832 Earth hours. If the Gorn home world has a day like that and uses 24 hours (1 Gorn hour = 243 Earthling hours), we might be in for a bit of a wait! [:D]

Oooohh ... that pic gives me warm fuzzy feelings. Played it quite a few times. Those games have a honorary place in my game cupboard. [:)]

Quit harassing the Gorn, he is a sensitive being. [:)]
Yes it's all in fun. [:)]
CanoeRebel and Cap Mandrakes AAR's meander all over in irrelevant directions and they are very entertaining as well. [;)]
I'll bet the Gorn is working on a cunning plan in his secret headquarters whose audacity will only be matched by its <insert suitable adjective here>. Steve had better watch out!!

Someone said those 2 games had a basic flaw in the movement rate, which was enough to keep me confined to War in the East.

Sadly I never got to play this. I was buying the collectors editions as and when they came out (have them all -
First To Fight, Balkan Front, Wavell's War, War in the Desert, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Storm over Scandinavia, Second Front) and so was waiting for Total War as the next installment. Sadly that wait has proven to be in vain....[:(]

I stuck with SPI games, for the most part. I didn't find GDW games as interesting, for some reason.

Right.
The Gorn is using his slow metabolism as a weapon. Steve will have to forfeit, giving Geoff clear victory! [:D]

I joked with DivePac before his ultimate death that any escape via that means of our game would automatically render me the winner. [:(] It was meant as an impetus for him to *not* die, but didn't seem to have worked.
Other opponents have literally disappeared from the boards and, seemingly, real life. My second PBEM partner and I kept a game running until September 1943. He had some health issues and just disappeared. This is probably 5 years ago. Nothing since. Poof. Gone. I'm hoping that he's OK. But to help me get over the loss, I gave myself the win. [;)]d

I'm having technical difficulties getting something to work the way I want. I can't really talk about it but if I can't make it work (and I probably can't, though I thought I had done something close to this before) I'll have to make adjustments to the plan. Have we already set a record of how many pages in an AAR without an actual beginning?

Probably not. This forum is one of legends, after all.

Me too - I got my money back from the shop I ordered it from. The website has been dead for about a year following tale after tale after sorry tale of woe, dodgy printers, fires, floods, plague of locusts etc etc [:(]

Harsh....okay so he quit on your game. There surely was no need for name calling, and what you got up to in your own time was not for us to judge.

I am disappointed in you guys.. I log in to read some humorous remarks and nothing has been posted for 36 hours. I am downtrodden at this and most now actually do work instead of reading forums... A sad day indeed.

Things to do on turn one:
