I believe it was Neville Chamberlain, then Prime Minister of England who said on 5 April 1940 during a speech that "Hitler has missed the bus." Two days later the Germans sail their vessels to commence the invasions of Denmark and Norway, which take place in the arly hours of 9 April, 1940. I enjoy your style for doing this AAR and always look forward to the next edition of the Brisbane Evening Star.

Thank you - appreciate it! You know, this is meant as a sort of entertainment for kinky WitP fans, as much as they can be entertained by anything else than behind their computers fighting the Pacific War. The "Evening Star", like most other newspapers, aren't entirely trustworthy and are known to have agendas. I also have to lag 7-10 days behind the actual action not to give my opponent a too easy ride (he's a devil). And it is cool to be able to throw in some contemporary stories.

I believe Chamberlain used that expression as early as September 1938.
