I think I saw some pretty good men disruption in my game when Soviets attack me. Maybe 1k people. Or maybe I am confusing it with something else.

Turn 13. Some strong armored/motorised pushes at the approach to Moscow, mostly blunted by costly reserve activations from my own armored. Zero attacks in the Leningrad sector. Some slight pushing in the south.

Losses, 2-1 AFV losses is a very good turn.

Wikipedia says the Germans lost roughly 2,735 tanks during Barbarossa. We approach pretty historical numbers!

Of course, the Soviets also suffered 3 million more casualties, so...

After some recent changes they have chance to commit to a battle during hasty attack. But they were always displayed on the battle report screen, even if they do not participate in a battle. Probably it is a case now.

It is nice to be a Soviet player, German get close to historical losses while Soviets have 3 mil more alive, and same pattern across multiple games.

Turn 14. Some slight pushing at Crimea, but the entrances still hold. No attacks at Leningrad, 2 attacks at the Moscow front. Majority of the action is centered around Kursk, which risks envelopment.

I think the German manpower losses tend to be less than historical. The German AFV losses are higher relative to the manpower losses because of how vulnerable/brittle Panzers/AFVs are (and also because Soviet players will deliberately target them for that reason, while generally leaving motorized divisions alone).

We mostly abandon Kursk, leaving behind 2 rifle divisions and an army HQ I don't really care for.

Turn 15. Kursk with it's 2 beaten up units are encircled, Orel is threatened. No attacks at Leningrad, Vyazma, or Stalino.

Bobkin is also encircled as you can see above, thankfully they can just leave the pocket.

Anyway, my OOB is close to 4m. Will probably reach it during mud, and then I get another 500,000 on turn 24 before blizzard. Snow will be the last chance, it seems, for the axis to deal a blow to my OOB.

That seems a quick and premature game over for the German player from my perspective.
If you play with VPs I doubt they have the needed to survive the first VP check. But even if they manage, it's more due to Soviet concession than their real advance.

He will meet the HWM due to Kursk falling, but just barely. Orel might also fall, which will give him some safety net.

There is a realistic chance of sudden victory though, yes.

Anyway I formed a new army under Vatutin, made up of all cavalry. These have 0 losses and will be used as the backbone for my cavalry corps.
