FYI, map jpegs in the first link of this thread are all broken. I can read about the scenarios but can't see the maps.

Thanks for the notice.
The maps links were still pointing to Yakstock Comcast account.

Should be OK now.

Build 109 - Enhanced Weather info

The last few weeks have been long ones, mainly stomping on bugs. One of these related to the weather info displayed in the rollover for the Weather Display. So while I was at it I decided to add in some other weather details as seen below. The info below the dotted line pertains to the daily weather and that above it to the hourly or current weather.

In the ScenMaker you can now specify the sunrise, sunset, min and max temperatures and ground condition for each day of the scenario.

7500m visibility seems pretty far in heavy rain. But I like the new feature!

That is a theoretical maximum rarely achieved.

So weather is hour-to-hour... but ground conditions vary daily?

In the ScenMaker you set the ground condition, sunrise, sunset, min and maxTemp plus the daily weather pattern.. The AI then determines the specific weather for each hour of that day based on these parameters. Eg for a Late Rain pattern there will be a strong probability of rain in the afternoon.

Yes but you will be restricted to the existing Estabs which do not cover Soviet units. FYI we are setting up an East Front Data Design Team ( DDT ) which will start developing the data content for battles on the Eastern Front. Part of their task will be to develop the Soviet Estabs. I'm hopeful that we should be able to see our first East Front title about a year after COTA is released.

While I'm at it we're hoping to sign off on COTA within the next month. It will then be up to Matrix to do their bit. But COTA release is imminent. [:)]

Arjuna,

I sent you an email concerning the East Front research team. Did you get it? I checked the option to have a copy sent to my email account, but did not receive anything.

Cheers

Paul

Single Click - takes you to the unit on the map.

Double Click - takes you to the unit on the map and opens up the detailed side bar on the unit.

Select Unit + "O" - takes you to the OOB display with that unit highlighted.

RE: New Force List Export/Import Feature

I have been trying to export/import forces but when I do the import I get an error message that nnn forces have been skipped because of unknown Object IDs.

In your forum message of 18 Feb 2005 you explained the use of this feature but my Export feature in SM doesn't give me any choice it only exports all forces,Axis & Allied, my version of SM is v3.4.151, is there a update for this ?

I also saw on this forum that someone said they had to be export as XML files, is that correct ?

Thanks
Alan

Alan,

Are you referring to the export to clipboard or to the export to xml feature? If you export to xml using the right context menu on the force entry in the force list, then this exports the force data to an xml file that you can later import. The export to clipboard feature is accessable via the Import/Export menu. This exports the data as tab deliminated text that you can paste into a spreadsheet and edit. When using the latter, you need to be wary of Excel's number formatting, which it does automatically. Normally it works fine but if the number format automatically adds zeros or commas it can stuff up your ID numbers and hence you will get an error when importing.
