Hi all,

Oh my... [X(]
Accident: Atlantic Southeast CRJ2 near Little Rock on Apr 1st 2011, bird strike

An Atlantic Southeast Airlines Canadair CRJ-200 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N845AS performing flight EV-5087/DL-5087 from Atlanta,GA to Little Rock,AR (USA) with 49 people on board, was on approach to Little Rock about 15nm east of the aerodrome when the airplane collided with a flock of cranes. The crew climbed back to 4000 feet, overflew the airport before safely landing at Little Rock about 30 minutes later. The airplane received substantial damage with a crane embedded in the nose cone.

Hi all,
ORIGINAL: Terminus

Sprained my ankle last Sunday. That's annoying; I'm getting old...[:@]

At the gym?

Leo "APollo11"

No. I was helping my mom move some chairs, and whilst carrying one, I stepped off what I thought was the last step of a flight of stairs. Turned out there were three steps instead of one; I literally heard the ligament going "twang". Luckily it didn't snap, and I didn't break a bone.

Still, it's keeping me out of the gym, and increasing my CPI (Couch Potato Index), which is NOT what I want.

BTW, are you at home on sick leave because of that?

No. I have it bandaged up, take a good cocktail of painkillers when I come to work, and put my foot up as much as I can.

I did not know that. Was it a surprise or were you warned?[:(]

Well, I had 30 days to choose between a very iffy prospect of finding another position
with the company or a severance package of 3 month's pay. I chose door #2. [8D]
Warspite1

Same choice I had in January - I too chose option 2. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I have an interview next week for a new job - fingers crossed. Have you got something else lined up?

A few leads so far, but nothing has panned out yet. Good luck with your interview! [8D]

Sorry to hear about the sprain, T, but glad it was not much more serious. Getting old does suck! [:D]

Any chance you can get to the gym to do some upper body work to reduce the CPI? [:)]

Hi all,

Sweet Jesus... [X(][:(]

Our newspapers here in their on-line editions carried news from China about 12 minute traffic camera composite video that captured 100+ deaths is the world's most dangerous intersection (China, Heze City, Shandong). Terrifying stuff... absolutely terrifying stuff....

We here have problems (and that's why I think they choose to go with that story to raise public awareness) but the China footage is almost unbelieving... the drivers simply paid no attention to traffic and traffic lights... [:(]

I'm considering doing just that next week, although I'm not sure how I'll warm up; can't get on a bike, cross-trainer or treadmill...
