One should not compare temperature with Hell. Hell has, after all, a special heat source that keeps it warm during the winter.

These birds, the black capped chickadee, are here all year long but they come into town for free food like sunflower seeds. They will even perch and look into my apartment when their supply of sunflower seeds is getting low. The cats aren't too excited about them anymore unless they fly right up to a window. Imagine one flying within 20 cm of a window with a cat on the other side. He was so excited! He was like a person, especially a child, who is so excited that the words just could not come out.

Chickadees are among the bravest of birds when it comes to approaching humans. The ones near our Scout cabin would hang around the door and if you actually had food in your hand they would come down and take it from your outstretched arm. Gray Jays are also brave. On a trail in Banff National Park I took a cookie break and a couple of them came down to sit on my shoulder or arm to get chunks of cookie. And if they thought you weren't watching, they would take the whole thing! My partner lost hers that way.
