Siam/Malaya -

The Japanese forces left in Siam have been completely cut-off from Japanese territory. At least 130,000 enemy men will die.

Supplies continue to flow ashore at Johore Bharu. The assault on Singapore will begin within 10 days time.

Operation Finch is about to begin. 503rd USA Para Rgt will be air dropped on the empty enemy island of San Jose west of Luzon. Following on from their heels will be 71 RAAF Aviation Rgt (flying in in 2 days time). Once they are in Corsairs will fly in. Then SeeBees will move by sea covered by LBA from Jesselton and San Jose and also by US CVE/RN BB's..........depending on how things go a similar operation may be launched against another 1-2 enemy islands in the area.

Bad weather prevented B29's flying against Gumma today. P51D's flew sweeps though and claimed 22 enemy fighters (Randy/Frank) for the loss of 3 friendlies.

Well the Allies continue to advance in IndoChina and Chinse Cavalrymen took Pisanoluke today...see screenshot attahced. Allied Armour is moving NE from Bangkok to link up with them. The rest of the force continues SE chasing the distant Japanese (a blimming set of ghost untis is holding me at every hex!)[8|]

503rd Para lands successfully at San Jose today. Enemy AA (what AA mind you since no troops were present) shot down 4 x Commando. Tomorrow 71st Aviation, 503rd Para and supplies will continue to be airlifted. P51D's are flying LRCAP from Jesselton. Let's see how it goes. If the enemy interferes the new move men and material by sea. If not we continue by air..........

SS I-180 was spotted by PBM's 240 WNW of Kuching yesterday. Allied DE's heavily damaged her in an ASW attack today.

Hi all,

Hi Capt. - not much chance right now. I don't have the necessary RN CV/BB support at Kuching/Jesselton to be able to move that far north.

In about 2 weeks time i'll have the main RN battle fleets in the region but at present RN CV's are protecting CV Intrepid and Bennington back to Columbo for repairs.

It's an interesting move by Faber. It will depend on how far back he retreatsd. If he stays around Saigon/Camranh Bay it increases my likelihood of an invasion of Haiphong and on Hainan.

If he pulls back to Haiphong it makes Hainan even more interesting since it will allow me to gain even better air supremacy over the frontline.

Need to see now how far Faber moves back.

Strange. I think Fasber has experienced the same Kamikazi glitch that PzB has. 77 x Zeke/George Kami's into the groudn at San Jose! Patrolling Mustangs also downed 6 enemy fighters for the loss of 1 friendly.

More transport flew into Allied San Jose throughout the day landing vital support troops and supplies......1 more day time and the runway will be active and Corsairs will land.........

A 3 day update since i'm busy at the moment and things are progressing on a routine level.

Allied forces have begun their march on Japanese held Singapore.

Allied Armour forces have taken Phnom Penn, Kratie and are 120 miles away from Saigon. The Japanese continue to retreat towards the Hanoi/Haiphong area.

More men and material is flown into San Jose every day.

The RN have begun to move towards Kuching.

BB Howe and King George V are the head of a BB TF and an RN CV TF is moving past Malaya towards Kuching. I npreparation for their arrival I decided to test Faber's reaction in PI. I sailed 4 TF's or AK's/BB's and CVE's (heavily capped with 100's of Mustangs) east from Jesselton to look like I was going for reinforcement of San Jose or to invade somewhere else. It worked in that recon/SignInt/radio intercepts showed me that planes and ships left Hong Kong (maybe SC/CV TF?) and 100's of enemy aircraft flew onto Luzon.

Interesting. With the arrival of my RN CV and modern BB's we could have a good scrap here with the aid of Corsairs and 100's of Mustangs[:)]

For now my decoy force heads back to Jesselton.

I now believe my testing is almost done with Manpower bombing. Simply put it's not worth it. You need to have INCREASING numbers of bombers every day to maintain and increase past 20000 fires at Gumma. Instead with daily bombing you get fewer bombers due to attrition. As such the fires at Gumma are down to 8000 now. Sure some damage has ben done to industry but I could have easily achieved this and probably more by Strategic Bombing....after 2 days rest this is what I will do again throughout Japan.

Rangoon's B29'swill start to bomb Singapore for a bit to help my men on the ground.

The trapped Japanese forces in Siam now 100's of miles from friendly lines will be attacked tomorrow. We expect to mop up the rabble fairly quickly....fairly quickly in Japanese terms. This will bring another 2300 AV in to play in Indo China.

Talking of Indo China Allied forces are now just 60 miles from Saigon..............

Fairly quiet in this area as we await RN forces in Borneo before moving into the PI. Every day more men and supply are flown into San Jose by Commando's.

Today a foolish attack by Japanese LBA on San Jose cost them 45 planes for the loss of 3 P51D's.

A further day of rest for Allies at Iwo Jima and Saipan. Another B29 BG is on it's way from America. To give you an idea of the damage caused on Gumma through city bombing i've attached a screenshot.

Soldiers of 53rd USA RCT are boarding transports at Kwajalein. Their target the Solomans. Other than Rabaul and 3 units at PM this area seems deserted of Japanese forces. A further 1000AV is at Kwajalein if resistance is encountered. A CVE TF will sail to provide air support. First target is Tulagi.

I know I don't mention many ship reinforcements anymore. It's simply because the force dispositions are so overwhelming in favour of the Allies and i'm receiving about 6-8 ships a day still! Still lots of goodies coming in. For example BB Missouri arrives in 3 days time............I have a whole fleet sitting at San Fran with nothing to do - 3 x CV, 6 x CVE, 3 x BB, 2 x CL, 1 x CLAA, 26 x DD for example............

Still no B29 attacks on Hamamatsu....weather. 10 x Frank were shot down over Japan today for the loss of 2 Mustangs.

Now on to the good. Saigon falls and elements of 81st Division are quickly smashed east of the city. A heavily damaged enemy AK is scuttled in the harbour. Next stop Camranh Bay.

BB Howe TF will reach Jesselton tomorrow. They will rest for a couple of days whilst transports are loaded with Engineers and supply for San Jose.

At the same time a mass of submarines will leave Kuching for sub deployments near HK, China, Formosa, PI........

2 days of massive B29 raids against Hamamatsu's industry. Today 356 x B29 hit resource plants. HI plants and Nakajima/Mitsubishi plants. We rest tomorrow before going for the engine plants at Shimuzu.
