So how many B-17s did your lose on the ground? That AL 2024 doesn't hold up well to large caliber HE......
You know...I paid $240 in parking fines to the City of Los Angeles in one day (tag team effort by my daughters)....$1750 to an attorney(daughter)....$640 for going 63 in a 55 mph zone to the City of Orange (my bad...and dont EVER, EVER try to pay your ticket on line)...the tire on my truck decapped on the freeway at 70 mph and took out the rear quarter panel, the muffler, the running board, the tail light, the right rear door after I just got it fixed after my daughter ran it up the curb (daughter again)...Stalker Girl's ex is probably headed for BK and I half expect him to ask if he can move in....Jerry was attacked by the bobcat(I just threw this in..to be honest it didn't really bother me that much[:)]).....all this happened in one week. I just picked myself up and mixed me a sublime Martini with Bombay Saphire and a couple of freakishly large olives and all was well.
Then
Fuso, smoking like a Tijuana trash dump, did terrible things to New Edinburgh Airfield......destroying
27 B-17's.
I am going to need therapy. I amnot kidding.

Flyable aircraft from New Edinburgh sent back to Suva. Small fighter complement at New Perth will try to cover NE. It won't work completely. There will be more destruction today. I suspect the carriers will take a break and let the land-based bombers attack, +/- shore bombardment.
Thankfully, supply got through to New Perth. The defenders are OK for now. I expect another Jap attack soon. Carrier forces completing rendezvous and reorganization SE of Auckland. I think they are far enough out to be unlikely to be spotted by search planes from Norfolk or Jap subs.

OUCH - multiple times! $240 for 8 mph over the limit! Did Governor AS tell the "justice system" that it had to be self-financing?
Don't let stalker girl's ex stay with you but tell him he can live nearby if he adopts your daughters until they are through adolescence [usually around age 34 in North America].

************May 10, 1942, Pacific Fleet HQ, Pearl**********
Chief of Staff to CINCPAC:<knock on door> Enter!
Naval Intelligence type: Good morning Captain. How is the Admiral today?
Chief of Staff to CINCPAC: A bit under the weather it seems. I think it's the business in New Scotland. I don't dare give him any more bad news. Wait till he hears about Chesty Puller. He won't come out of his office and just keeps calling for more olives.
Naval Intelligence type: Olives, sir? The green kind?
Chief of Staff to CINCPAC: Yeah, the green kind. Stuffed with gorgonzola.
Naval Intelligence type: Gorgonzola, the cheese, sir?
Chief of Staff to CINCPAC: Do you another Gorgonzola?
Naval Intelligence type: Yes, sir. Annapolis '39. I think he's in torpedo boats sir.
Chief of Staff to CINCPAC: Commander is there a reason for your visit today?
Naval Intelligence type: Yes sir, it's about Mutsu.
Chief of Staff to CINCPAC: Mutsu? The Jap battleship that you told us was sunk 2 months ago?
Naval Intelligence type: Yes sir! that's it!
Chief of Staff to CINCPAC: Let me guess. She sunk with $100 million of Fillipino gold aboard.
Naval Intelligence type: Ummm...no sir, but good guess.
Chief of Staff to CINCPAC: Well? Are we playing 20 questions or are you going to tell me what you came in for?
Naval Intelligence type: Well sir, do you remember that famous line by Mark Twain when he was reported to have died in the newspapers, but he really hadn't died yet?.........

Naval Intelligence types never 'exaggerate' as Mark Twain's obituary writers did. They simply 'misunderestimate', following the lead of their political leaders.

No, $640. $340 for the "ticket" (more properly a tax) and $300 because I tried to pay it on-line and the website was not "sucker-friendly".
It was absolutely a revenue generation station and had nothing to do with traffic safety. They even set up shop about 300 yds outside the city limits on the reverse slope of a hill. A perfect anti-tank ambush. The drivers get off the freeway...are slowing down from freeway speeds..they crest the hill....bingo...sabot round to the weak spot. Laser speed gun instead of doppler...they thought of everything.

BTW, Jerry's headstone is ready. Be delivered about 4pm today. Should be heavy enough to keep the coyotes out.

Really? Is that fair? Look at the weight Hoss was carrying. Maybe breakfast wasn't his specialty, but still? And the last category...how many times did you see a woman on the Ponderosa and it was like a 2 day ride into town? It just stands to reason there had to be a safety valve somewhere.

Sheep? I doubt it. Come to think of it I am not sure what they did for a living. They seemed to have a nice ranch house and a lot of free time....maybe they were growing ganja.
I am not cut out for this Admiral thing. Waiting for the turn with carriers in jeapordy is killing me.
Pinhead, the Shepherd, Whippet, Border Collie, Dachshund, Rottweiler, X mix sniffed out a rattlesnake on the trail last evening. A big 4 foot snake gave her a warning rattle. Nearly scared the fecal stream out of me and scared her too. Today she stepped on a serpentine shaped twig and when it moved she jumped about 3 feet straight up in the air. Hilarious.
