Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur

We are just so bad in defence - and there is no finish, no quality to hurt Chelsea when we do get a glimpse of a chance up front.... and if Kyle Walker does have to come off at half-time and is replaced by Fazio, then its going to be 4 or 5-0 [:(]

That's easy: it all depends on the size of the Arsenal's wallet. Too small? = no Mourinho. Besides Arsenal (or Wenger) is following this philosophy (at least they were doing that last time I checked): target young talents. Mourinho is more successful, true. The size of the wallets is very different too, so no big deal on my book.

Mourinho doesn't know what to do with creative players, except "defend, period". If he had a chance he'd put Van Gogh (the painter, yes) to break stones and other mundane tasks [8|]

BTW yet another trophy for Mourinho today (sadly) - and a great day for Chelsea in the league without even playing as Man City lost.

My comment about Arsenal is that their players, in the cup match, had no defence at all. They played all out attack. And since it was match one that is just plain dumb. Or very naive. It has not so much to do about Mourinho but rather that I get mad when I see a team play that stupid. Defence is a important part of football and that was among the worst I ever seen. Youth teams defend better than Arsenal did. I could have understood the all out attack if it would have been the second game and but it was not. Arsenal just gave the win away by players acting like defending were beneath their dignity.

I suspect it has more to do with the new money rules is European football that forbids them to transfer endless amounts of money into their teams.

My comment about Arsenal is that their players, in the cup match, had no defence at all. They played all out attack. And since it was match one that is just plain dumb. Or very naive.

This is exactly why Holland never managed to win the World Cup (sadly, yes). All out attack is foolish unless you can score more goals than your opponent will ever score. I am not a hardcore supporter of offensive football, by the way.

The Dutch were extremists. Mourinho is another extremist aka all out defense.

I hope he understands that American football players use their upper body a lot more than soccer players.
