Off to my boy's first grade class. They're hatching duck eggs for a class project. I'm going to do a Q/A on incubation, hatching and embryo development for them and then have lunch with my son at school.
I'm fortunate. He's still of the age that he thinks this is incredibly cool-dad going to his school. In his eyes, I'm not yet a stuff shirt to be avoided in public at all costs. I'm savoring this time while it lasts...
Please use scientific terminology sparingly....or that time you dread will come much sooner. [:D]
It went fine. I'm used to conversing about these things in varying grade levels. There's what I say with colleagues in the biz or in academia, then there's a middle school to high school approach. Then there's a first grade-level discussion. Then there's THE THREAD!!! [:'(]

Decided on a braised Indian-style cauliflower with a bit of halibut and some annato rice. Turned out nice!
Much better than a pint of warm mouse blood, for sure. [:D]

Well, you should have fair warning that our blood, while not sporting a massive immune system like yours (we don't need it on Mars), it is nonetheless silicone based and has been known to cause...erm...mammary expansion in humans. Drink up, if you must. I'm sure Victoria's Secrets would love an immortal customer. [:'(]
