T119
Moscow mayhem... The Soviets employ ferry units as infiltrating guerillas, crossing an unguarded section of the river and -bim-bam-boom[X(]- they're behind my lines

Increasing pressure near Moscow, where the Soviets captured Serpukhov and broke through east of Obninsk... A withdrawal in that bulge may become necessary.

The Rtishchevo area. Despite straightening the line, the danger hasn't subsided
I have 4 Italian units as reinforcements, which I'll have to send to this area (all others are divided units reconstituting)

26 August 1942
The holes from the previous Soviet assaults have been plugged, thanks to the freshly arrived Italian alpine divisions.
But now another assault has been carried out near Kirsanov

30 August 1942
I started the final assault on Stalingrad, but the Soviets attacked my northern flank

Turn 126 is underway and I'm making progress in the Caucasus.
Moving past Mozdok, to Kizlyar and northwards up the Baku-Astrakhan line.. I may be able to meet up with the units pushing east out of Elista
Using an engineer unit as recon I found Grozny to be undefended![X(] For key locations like that I'd suggest placing a fixed counter representing local militia in them

During the Soviet's turn I got kicked out of Grozny right away, so no difference in the supply situation. Trying a back door move to disrupt the Soviet supply lines on t127

We've done that at other places, so maybe a good idea for Grozny too. I think we have an available unit slot, we can ask Rick if he can put a garrison there.

I tend to think this aspect might discourage players from
coup de maining certain locations.
This made me wonder how the Germans took Maikop, because I didn't recall any account of a battle there. I found it is reported that zbv800 moved into Maikop masquerading as Soviets, and convinced the garrison to retreat. Wow.

Here's the movie from t125 till 130... note the Soviet offensive north of Stalingrad... I have to throw everything available in battle as so to plug the holes

23 Sep.1942 Turn 132 is underway and I'm gonna have to make some decisions.
My Caucasus offensive seems to have come to a halt. A few weak attacks to capture Grozny were fruitless and in other places the Soviets have organized a solid defense.

More from t132
The Soviet offensive north of Stalingrad has caused some havoc. The only available units I could rail in were some weak Jungarian security units. I pulled back from Kotovo.

23 Sep.1942
More trouble along the Rtishchevo-Tambov line
I decided to start a pull back in the northern part of this sector, behind the river.
This shot before the manoeuver

And here a shot after the pull-back... I gave up 100 Km in some sectors, but with the Soviets having the avantage here and winter approaching, I had to do it cuz else I would face a major disaster.

This one's been on the shelf for a while, but I'm continuing..
On 30 September 1942 we see the furthest advance east by any Axis unit when the 1st bde/68 Inf Div fought its way into Astrakhan

Turn 136 and we've got mud. Saved by the bell...that came no turn too soon cuz the Soviets were putting heavy pressure on my lines in front of Moscow.
