Kamil,
MT's drive south reminds me of my match as the Axis against TD. I am sure you realize the purpose is to deprive you of manpower generating hexes. As the manpower multipier drops in the following years, it will harder to expand your army to keep up with loses and attrition. As the Axis player in my match, I took care to make sure I inflicted enough losses /turn to insure just that. What I am advising: when you go on the offensive, take care to not leave burnt out units exposed to successful counterattacks - these counterattacks on these units is very costly when the units retreat.
I am confident the Axis will eventually lose this one.

It looks like you are right and he focuses on destruction of my industry and manpower centres.
To be honest I do not share your faith in me. I think I will lose.

If Kamil can hold Moscow he has a chance for a draw, a win only if MT keeps attacking to long and does not change over to defensive set-up. Which might happen, because few people injoy being a punching bag for 3 yrs. I don't think Mt has the mind set for it to be honest.
If Kamil loses Moscow he has no chance at all because of the lose of the manpower centers. I have had several games get into 43 when I have taken Moscow and the Germans can easily win the war of attrition at that point until late 43. Then there simply is to much space and not enough time, because of the new changes that help late war Germany.
Its much easyer now for German side to get a draw because of the changes the last few patchs.
After the last 2 rounds of patchs I have 5 draws 2 wins no loses.
GHC simply needs to:
1. Take Leningrad and the manpower centers in the south.
2. Retreat from Oka south during blizzard.
3. Keep attacking into late 42/early 43, while digging a 90 hex front line 3 deep.
4. Change over to GHC defensive set-up, which will now keep line stable until mid summer 44.

The south means little at this point because GHC is far past railheads. The infantry will suffer hvy loses of men/Morale during mud season and even greater loses during blizzard.
My guess is MT is simply taking MP centers and making a buffer zone so that come blizzard he have a very strong fort line from Rostov north.
Hes probably moving he best units to the Moscow area. Hes still going to have to wait for RH to get closer to Moscow (T12)at least.
There is no way he can frontal assault it.
MT will have to pocket it.
As long as Kamil keeps pumping troops to the flanks of Moscow he should be able to hold it at this point.

I looks to me like Michael is already setting up a huge envelopment operation for Moscow. Two turns ago this already became apparent. Kalinin and Ryazan might likely be the two starting points I bet and he will try to unite them east of Moscow, probably more than 80miles/8 hexes east or northeast of it where the terrain becomes a little better for mobile units while all the while his infantry will batter their way directly downtown. This will probably start with the arrival of sufficient RH supply, and with the end of the little hook to Voronesh as well as the taking of LG's back door. The forts are fairly low in that region, so... Let's hope SHC can put up enough resistance at Moscow...

T9 north (Soviet)
Losing Kalinin convinced me that Leningrad will be taken, so I decided to retreat to prevent destruction of Northern and North-Western Fronts.

Panzers is Kalinn area should not have enough petrol to wreak havoc next turn.
Further south my line is strong but paper thin, but majority of motorised units are near Ryazan so defence will probably hold.

Certain individual said: "Quantity has a quality all its own".
Battle north of Ryazan proved him right - 1 quality division wasn't able to withstand attack undertaken by 10 (or 11) poor units.

I really don't think I can hold Rostov.

T10 north (German)
Michael focuses his efforts on direct attack on Leningrad what really suits me. Withdrawal will be easier.

T10 Moscow (German)
My estimation of fuel reserves stocked by panzers in Kalinin area were correct and not much ground was gained by Germans.

I was really surprised that river wasn't crossed. There was one more good news. Michael diverted more mobile units to Voronezh area. Good.

Arriving units of North and North-Western front enabled me to create half-decent check-board defence north and east of Kalinin.

I am going to make a stand here. I fear it might end up in disaster, but it is to valuable position to give it up without fight.

Man, this looks brutal... MT is a skilled player, but I'm amazed at what the engine allows. Wish you good luck!
