The Flak is inside Helglarn itself!!

We'll have to see what we can do about that as well!

The one thing to notice is that, this seems to be a reserve unit, since, it's not Self Propelled.

WG units are also showing up near Atteln now.

Here is a WG recon unit. This unit is very much armed with front line equipment.

There seems to be a mix of Territorial Army units and regular HEER units in this area.

From their initial deployments it seems as though we met Territorial Army units at first and that HEER units are now moving to reinforce them.

As our Attack Helo's move into the area they also detect more WG units. These are in trucks. Again, those seem to be units from the Territorial Army and not HEER units.

Our helicopters are blanketing the area and getting us good intelligence on enemy presence and his movements.

Our helo's aren't here just to look around. The Attack Helicopters do their duty and, well, ATTACK!

There now moves into observation a major West German combat force to the west of us. It is moving this way and is reported by our western most recon helo.

This is an interesting development because those appear to be M48's and not Leopards. If they are we should win this fight easily. [8D]

Well I had some catch up reading to due....Good Stuff.
Question- does artillery have the chance to destroy bridges?

Why isn't our artillery pounding those enemy concentrations[:D]
our advantage is we have better intel right now, we need to use that. I can't see that they would have a very good picture of what there facing.

Now there appears to be Leopards of some sort with the armored forces approaching from the west. I'm not sure what it is we face, but they are, they have lots of tanks! [X(]

And now south of Helmern I see that we have encountered WG recon units again. These seem to be the same ones we bumped into earlier. Except before there was one, now there seem to be two.

The WG armor is trying to work around our recon helo out to the west. Even with our helo's there they are deploying to the east.

Warning!! Incoming fire!!!

We are reporting that one of our helicopters has been lost!!

We kill two of their recon in return.

We also kill their recon unit in Atteln!

So, we put some of their own eyes out in the trading of recon losses.

Finally, we get tanks across the river to the south of Helgarn!

The Battle of Atteln is shaping up. Both sides are rushing units at Atteln. Who will get there first?

DISASTER STRIKES!!!

We have lost our recon unit that has eyes on the bridge at Helgarn. [:@]

Immediately the reports stop coming in and we are left with guessing where those enemy forces are.

To make matters worse two more of our helo units get threat warnings. The enemy is actively trying to destroy our helicopter elements.

Even as our helicopters are threatened they show us the forces arrayed around Helmern.

The Battle for Helmern is about to start!

I am very concerned for our western recon helicopter unit. That appears to be a Gepard Flak Panzer unit just to the NW of Haaren and only 1000 meters from our recon unit! [X(]

Comrade General...we have lost all contact with our western most recon element. They do not respond to comms.

So, now, because both our "Eyes in the Sky" have been shot down, we are left to guess at what the enemy is doing to our west as well.
