Traded a few tank to tank shots..I dig in {DEEP} at Ponyri..the school house awaits my friend!

South

Many small fights all along the front..I bring the Panthers under fire..many many hits..no kills.

I hold on all fronts!! and hundreds of T-34s pour out in every direction from KURSK!:mad:

Why can't armor opfire on infantry if not targeted themselves? STUPID!

We advance, although our progress is so slow the snails race past us. :rolleyes: I'm not used to take on pillboxes head on...

In Sumy the resistance is quiet, so we have bridged the creek and will enter the village any minute. Far east, my Panthers shrug of the barrage and move forward, but not too far as I forgot to move them. Oooops. (Olga, take notice) The cowardly enemy has dug in deep at range from the lines, but that doesn't help much when fighting the masters of long-range combat! A KV-1, M10 and captured PzIII is sent to the afterlife. We also have a nominee for the Luckiest T-34 on the Front, as a dug-in specimen survives SIX hits from 88's at 21-25 hexes!!

Observation: I don't know if it's H2H or what that causes it, but generally I'm really pleased with the Panthers ability to survive. Sometimes they die easily, but many times they take multiple direct hits without damage.

We are slowly moving south, m4 lost a T34 and more squads, almost to the school, just a pillbox away!

DAM DAM DAM breakdowns!!! i think I had at lease eight this turn!!!:mad:

North

At the westwood Bridge a SU-57 and a T-34 take on a MkIII, (a very cool little fight) in the end I am down 1 T-34...1 of 650 that is.

Just west of the School house a KV-1 and a Stug IIIg fight it out..no kills

2 M3 Lee's die near Kursk?! it looked like a 75mm Pak....

South

On "Panther right" I slow the convoy down again and kill another Panther with a MOL...

Millions and Millions of T-34s spread out like a wild flower feild

Ever onwards. Nothing much to say, we go forward and destroy whatever we find. That pillbox in Sumy proves to be very resilient. But his brother is down!

A Nashorn proves it's worth by nailing a KV-1 from a distance too great for the hapless tank to counter.

other wise marching ever forward, can see the open plain, will be there soon!:D

Oh and I cannot confirm or denigh the existsnce of a 75mm pak that the poorrrr Lee's ran into!:D

I continue to harass and slow down the Germans on both fronts..I attack with 37mmAAs against Tigers, 45mm against Panthers, Mols at anything that gets too close, I use captured MkIIIs, 76mmATs, T34s, T70s....the frigging kitchen sink!!!!

Says who, twinkle toes, your russian army is folding before your eye's. It is only a matter of time before either Bel or I break thru your lines and take ogla home with us!:p :p

"Harass" is a good choice of words. But now we can see the 37mms, and puts all of them under heavy fire. I trust that Russian discipline will do the rest of the job. :p

Defences in Sumy are breached as the AT bunker gets an 88mm ventilation hole! The T-34 dies as well, an easy shot for a PzIV.

Gertsovka sees some action, another AC dies, but the location of the hidden ATG is revealed...too bad for him.

In the east, the Panther Push continues as the AT bunker guarding the south entrance to Prokhorovka dies a horrible death. Men fall by the dozen all around the in the woods. And those are not MY men.

For those who's following this, if you want a grasp of the scale of the battle I can say that there's still a full 145 hexes between me and Doom in KG Nord. This will be bloody.

Bel...fix your score card man!

North

West Wood: nothing much, another German half-track dies.

Center: a T-34 kills a much hated flambé half-track, a pair of T-34s race to protect the north/center Olga park, the duel with Stug's, Olga lays down a wall of smoke to hide behind.

Center Attack at Ponyri: yes I said counter attack! Ferds,Panthers,SU-122s,Inf,Sappers, and Engineers enter a wild Melee of death at the "Schoolhouse" I feel Ponyri will suck in more troops from each side as this will be a personal fight between myself and Dump Doom...

East Flank: Nothing to report I dig in deeper. Olga is called in on the Stug threat.

South

Sumy: A SU-57 takes out a German half-track packed full of SS (I hate SS), another SU-57 takes on a tiger at close range! I hit "Ding!" he miss's I pop smoke!
a captured MkIII runs a wild race on the east/west road and is shot at many times by a pack of tigers and stug's all miss,,,thats one lucky SOB! At the Sumy flak park I continue to harass the tigers...

Center: M10 kills another HT and sneaks back into the safe woods. not much more.

Right Flank: small Inf fights only...

Notes: Both Don and Bel are ready to pounce the center,,,,I am scared..if they break through the entire map is theirs and will control the battle. I cannot let that happen!

I now like to split up the Southern advance into three parts, from west to east; the Sumy front, the Cherkassoye front and the Prokhorovka front to the east.

Sumy front: Sumy defences are down! The ZiS that tried to hide in smoke is destroyed by an StuH on overwatch. His brother at the west end of the village experiences what it's like to face a Tiger. *boom* With the two ATGs down, and 4-5 squads of infantry cleared we are now in a good position to continue. The Sumy Flak Park is decimated, but a lone 37mm survives assault from 4 Tigers and 3 PzIII's - and it's still firing!! :rolleyes:

The "lucky" captured PzIII racing on the east-west road runs out of fuel and the tank is permanently liberated from its captors.


Cherkassoye front: Cautious advance, there are Wolverines lurking to the north-east and I'm not gonna lose a Kat to a d@mn piece of US junk! A T-34 on overwatch at the east-west road get's an additional 88mm viewport and goes bye-bye. :p The ATG guarding the Gertsovka railway is dead, and the advance picks up pace. Hopefully we'll be able to flank those TDs...

Prokhorovka front: Panther Push! Smoke is now everywhere, which so far benefits us greatly. We're across the River Psel all along the front and are clearing the hidden enemies from the woods and drive them before us to Prokhorovka.

Reports reach the KG HQ about a major enemy push in Ponyri to the north. Our hopes lies confident in the fighting prowess of the northern KG!
