This may not matter, but right after USSR declares war, and before any combat has occurred, a banner message appears reading "Russia rebuilds damaged industry in Urals." This to me implies damage from combat, which as mentioned has not yet occurred . . . but perhaps this is not what is meant. Perhaps what is meant is that the USSR is merely refurbishing old factories. Again, not a major issue, and it may not matter at all, but I mention it in case it is.

Hi

That is very odd as the script in question fires in response to DE 402 which only fires when the Axis are invading the Ukraine.

DE 402 is to transfer industry from the Ukraine to the Urals.

Have you (assuming you are the Allies) been presented with this Decision, and said yes to it?

Thanks

Bill

Maybe it triggers too early (on Axis entering the first hexes in Ukraine). There can't be that much industry right next to the border.

I had this too, when I played the Axis. The USSR declared war on me in July 1941, probably because I build up forces next to the border over several rounds. Felt a bit odd nevertheless, as this has to be done, did happen in history withiout the USSR declaring war so early.

I have checked that and I think it's something else, because Axis forces do have to have marched into the Ukraine proper to trigger it, i.e. Romanian forces sitting near Odessa won't cause it.

Plus there has to be an Allied turn where the conditions are met, for the Decision to fire, i.e. it can't be on the first Axis turn.

Possibly a bug in the engine's reading of the triggers.

Units with unused AP will blink at the highest zoom-level of the map (the view where you see all of Europe).
They blink without stop. But if you move the mouse cursor at one of the four sidelines (West / North / South / East), the blinking will instantly stop.
I guess that is a bug, right?

I am not sure if this is a bug or not. But it seems odd that Axis supply is so strong in this scenario.

That does look right, as the HQ is receiving supply of 2 from Gazala, and:

HQ Supply Distribution Value = 8 if the current supply value of the HQ is 1 to 5

I really should read the manual

What is unusual here is that Gazala has received much less damage from the Malta effect while the other locations have been harder hit. Randomness can create this situation! [:)]

I love that too Bill :)

Not sure what triggered this. Greece was attacked by Italy back in 1940 and the message triggered then, but its 1944 now. Greece was never conquered, and the front line there hasn't changed much over the years. I haven't done anything that I can think of that would have messed with this trigger, and I haven't seen this happen before.

Thanks for pointing this out. The trigger for it to pop up is when Greece joins the Allies, Egypt is in Allied hands and there are no Axis units in central Egypt (specifically within 6 hexes of Cairo).

The reason being that if the Axis are doing well in Egypt then sending any British units to Greece would be a bit foolhardy.

I'll have to have a think about a way round that, because I can see that in trying to avoid it giving silly advice early in the war, I've created a situation where it will sound silly later in the war!

I think the only sure fire way is to tie this in to DE 708 which is when Italy declares war on Greece.

Though on re-reading your post, do you mean to say that you've seen this message twice? [&:][X(]

you've seen this message twice?

Well, it was a long time ago in game terms, so I can't say with 100% positivism, but I think I did.
when Greece joins the Allies, Egypt is in Allied hands and there are no Axis units in central Egypt

Ok, so the way things went here was that Greece was attacked by Italy in 1940, and Greece never folded. Meanwhile, the DAK overran Egypt and the Middle East. Then, with US help, the Allies came out of Kuwait and retook the Middle East and then Egypt [in 1944]. It seems like, when Egypt was retaken, this message was triggered, I think.

If I come across a similar situation in a future game, I will save every turn and see if it happens again.

In testing my scenario I get a crash "failed draw estimate combat losses text buffer. segmentation violation when I try and move to hex 191,105 with the 1st Bulgarian corps.

It has happened three times in a row.

I haven't chaneged the placement of the Greek forces. The Greeks are setup as in the 1939 scenario

If Spain joins the Allies, should Santa Cruz and Vigo be taken back from Axis Control ?

Don't know if this is a bug or by design.

In the editor when you go to edit the Production Queue or Deployment Queue the list of units stops with Motor Torpedo Boats. Missing are Mulberry, Transports, Amphibious Transports and Amphibious Transports (LR).

Near the end of the game, the UK took Albania [in the shot some Greek units have now moved in to occupy it]. Albania now shows up in the UK Unit Purchase screen, so the UK bought an Albanian corps. A few turns later the unit showed up in the New Unit dialog, but it 'cannot be placed' ?!?!

Next turn, it cleared up and the unit was allowed to be placed.
