After two full years of the Second Shakturi War things are actually looking to be pretty much under control. This shot shows one reason why: I was able to concentrate large amount of massive firepower where the Shakturi attacked, resulting in huge loses to the enemy. Fighting the enemy around massive orbital defenses with huge fleet support (and more advanced technology) seems to have made the difference. Also, the Ancient Guardians appear to have said, "We've got this" and have been quite aggressively going after the Shakturi- in this shot you can see some Guardian/Shakturi fights in progress. In the Shakturi's defense, however, it seems that the fact that they started with just one planet (I believe to be a result of the Old Start setting)has affected their strength/aggressiveness.

Remembering that the Shakturi are based in Sector O7, this shows the location of one of two systems that have seen a large amount of fighting in the last two years.

In the last two years I have unleashed Xaraktor virus on Vilmuueni 3 twice, most recently almost a year ago. The first salvo occurred when the population was still Eruktah and killed only perhaps 2.5 billion. The second shot took place against a Shakturi population and killed nearly 12 billion. After the second shot an Imperial and a Phaerax colony were infected for one 3-month period.

Here is a look at the Vilmuueni 3 space port: notice the count of ships under construction is WAY down. Also, this does not show it so well but the Guardians are much in evidence fighting in the Vilmuueni system.

This is the Shakturi garrison force on Vilmuueni 3... believe it or not, I estimate that it would take an initial drop equaling approx. half of my currently existing ground troops to-perhaps- win this fight.
