Thank you Taifun for this really exciting part. Taifun had most of the initiative and cleverly conducted operations that were sometimes different from history but historically realistic, which made me completely immersed in the game.[:)] I also liked the sometimes historical and sometimes funny comments about the events of the game.
it makes me want to play a new game when I'm a bit more available.

Game completed: Scottydawg (axis) vs Markiss (allies); Allied victory Oct., 1943
I strongly felt I could not win this game, but it was a good one! In the end with Italy falling early (1942), and an invasion in S. France as well as Greece joining Churchill, I just didn't have enough units to guard my growing fronts. Our tournament captain prevails again...thanks for an excellent game!

Thanks to you as well Scottydawg for an interesting and informative match. Your blistering Barbarossa eventually overwhelmed the Soviets, but they lasted just long enough.
I am up for one new match. First come, first serve.

Scottydawg has claimed the right of revenge, and I will, of course, honor his challenge.
New game, Markiss(Axis) vs Scottydawg(Allies).

The ELO rankings are updated as of today.
Axis have won the last 6 in a row...
Does this mean we have a balance issue?
If so, by how much, and where particularly might it matter the most?
Though I see you won an Allied victory on the 16th. So the question of how much it is experience must also come into play.
Thoughts from you and everyone else are of course welcome. [:)]

It's probably just random - if you flip a coin 100 times you'll see some runs of 6 heads, and the tournament is pretty similar to that on the whole...

I did think the streak was note-worthy statistically, which is why I mentioned it, being a numbers guy. I will let others opine on whether it is indicative of a deeper issue with the game, or just a random blip on the radar. Could the beginning of this streak have corresponded to an update? I will let the deep thinkers tackle that one.
I will note that before this streak, the Allies were ahead on overall record by 4 games, so in the tournament as a whole, the record is still very even.
Another unusual fact about this streak is that both games that went to 1947 were won by the Axis, I would have thought longer games would favor the Allies.
One victory was also awarded due to abandonment of the match. But if I had my guess, it would have been an Axis victory in any case, so I am including it in the 6 games.
Meaningful or not? Have at it!

IMO the game currently strongly favors the Axis, I only play the Allies so I may be biased. Although I have on many occasions said the game is balanced in agreement with others.
I don't follow this tournament that closely but seems the Axis won 6 in a row and the #2 ranked player just conceded as Allies in '42.

Apart from the question of statistical relevance, which of the latest 2 updates should have messed up the balance? There were only minor changes.
