You can certainly add the attachment and sometimes it even asks you if you want to " place it inline " you say yes then preview or submit it but the screen shot is not even there.

Dont understand it was working fine 24 hour or so ago.

Sent PM to the administrator just want to know if anyone else is having the same issue.
I am Nr. 1 that reported it.
You Nr. 2.
And Nr. 3 is right after your post

So, seems like someone made a "oopsie".

you can make screenshots and write some text on a local machine, then go to a next turn
and once forum is fixed, post it

Hi everyone,

We are still working on improvements to the new forum. Please be patient and bear with us.

I just got news from our admin that the attachment issues should now be resolved. All past attachments from the old forum should now be migrated over.

If you have any issues with old or new attachments from this point on, please let us know.

Regards,

- Erik

While the attachment is back as it should be, the screenshot is now duplicated (appears twice):

Also, note that the Smilie code in the text is not converted into a proper Smilie:

Try CTR+F5 on your browser to reload the page, this should get rid of duplicate screenshots.

Can you please add tagging of users?
E.g. @Tyronec would give a notification to Tyronec he has been mentioned in the post?

EvonK: There is a section in the User Control Panel where you can name "Friends and Foes". The wording suggests putting another User's name there would result in notification when they post. Is that what you were looking for?

I might not because I have turned off all such notifications. I expected to use the PM system for direct exchanges of messages, and since I visit the forum daily I did not see a need to be notified by email of any replies to my posts.

The point is that if anyone posts something on the forum they would like you to see, they can quickly notify you. Discord has this feature and it is quite useful.

I haven't been using the new forum very much. It is clumsy, unpleasant in its design, and is very uninviting in its look. I will only come here when I need to. In my view it is no longer comfortable for relaxed browsing.

As someone who has been using since it went live, at this point I find it much faster and more responsive than the old forum (the old lag and time-outs are gone), the look and design (once you enable the "wide" theme per the posted tips) is very similar. The forum fonts and size are the same as the old forum, as are the colors.

It's also a work in progress - we're still fixing things and improving it every day and that will continue for several weeks I expect.

With that said, I would like to hear what results in your impression being completely opposite mine?

Regards,

- Erik

Hi Erik,

Thanks for your reply. My view is based upon personal taste. The forum looks quite cold and technical to me. Of course it is a change, and for some, like me, it may take a bit of getting used to. Time will tell. I wonder has forum use dropped since the change, or remained steady.

I hope the new look works well. I like Matrix as a company. Through the years I have found it to be welcoming and thoughtful in managing the forums and dealing with members.

Regards, John

It get better with time, kind of like wine.

It has a lot of pluses going for it now,, and Matrix has been responsive to fix things ups. The big bonus is its free for us to use! And we can chat with other war gamers.
