btw, I was just taking only a very slightly different approach to someone who just posted this:

Simon, I laughed when I read your post there. Sadly, I believe your sarcasm was completely lost on the original poster. [:D]
You IT guys are brutal....have some sympathy.......if we were all as smart as you in this stuff, we wouldn't need you. And you'd be out of work. [:D]
I know where they get it from. I've seen some VERY sarcastic messages on some compilers. Then again, those compilers were written by other sarcastic computer nerds. Its a loop. [:D]

Doesn't that only work if she's interested in taking driving lessons? Is there disincentive to her just taking the keys and going sans lessons?
Side question: what is typical driving age for our lime-enhanced bretheren?
She can't start taking lessons before she's 17.
I was 24 when I learned to drive, never had the need for it before that.

I want to see this thread. Come round to my house and type in the address for me Simon.
There had better be several bottles of something very expensive involved in this transaction. [:D]

Nebraska! Enjoy our flatness.
I've had the pleasure of meeting some girls from there. Luckily, the above is a strictly geographical reference. [:)]

[:D][:D] Won't change Claire : she is already complaining about her "espece d'imbécile de mari" ( what kind of fool of husband) [;)][;)]
Regular pastime for the the married part of the human female population. The unmarried part spends their time complaining about how the good ones are all taken. N'est pas? [:D]

I was way way off on the word itself, but here's a handy guide (with audio pronunciation functionality) for your viewing pleasure:
http://www.kli.org/tlh/phrases.html
The word in question (Hello / what do you want?) is: nuqneH.
Thanks CB. I'll get right on that after I master French. [:)]

If she wants her pocket money, a limo for the prom and a prom dress it does.
How long would one expect to maintain that kind of leverage?
I imagine that if she's not wearing clothing with pockets or if it's after the prom, this tact has less leverage.
Thats what I thought too.

Then it's driving lessons...
How little regard you have for public safety.

Is it common for a family in the UK to have more than one car?

Me, too, Simon, but I had been driving since age 14 anyway.

I learned when i was 16 though it remains a hard task, especially with having to avoid hitting all the stupid pedetrians walking on the back up roads that bracket most of our major roadways in urban and suburban areas.
