What is it supposed to be ??
The translation, although not perfect, is quite OK

Avons-nous un jour le français?

Avons nous un jour DE français.
If you tell it like that, Per, it would mean that you have (or own ??) one men, a french.

I don't want here to play the master brain, just trying my threadster pal to learn a bit what i can help them[:)]

Hi Eric!

I blame any misspellings or grammatical errors on "Google translate" (http://translate.google.com/#en|fr) [:D][:'(]

Edited; The french phrase above is what came out when I asked it translate "Are we having a french day"?

Per, that's what i thought at first.
To be honest: i understand what you want to say; but if you find a short-minded french, or obtuse, or stupid (or both ), he could have problem understanding. Thus the fact that i correct this sentence for you.
Hope this help, and is not taken badly [:)]

Gentlemens, after 36 hours of wait, i got a turn in my inbox, so i leave you for a while

in french (much more commonly said):

hey les gars, apres 36 heures d'attente, j'ai un tour dans ma boite, alors je vous laisse pour un moment [:)]

Which, according to GT, translates to;

"hey guys, after 36 hours of waiting, I have a trick up my box, so I leave you for a moment" ...

Edited: I wonder what Onime might make of that statement ... [:D]

Your tutoring is welcome, Eric. [:)]

I studied French for 2 years in High School, around 27 years ago, and got to practice just a bit when in Toulon for a port call 21 years ago, but I've not really used it since. Needless to say, almost every bit that I learned has been lost in my brain. I think it's been replaced with useful stuff, like the docking capacity of a size 4 port. [:D]
