Sorry, am I getting too Pasternakski with this? Don't mean to be, just having fun.
Hah! It's impossible to be "too" pasternakski. It's like saying the Washington Monument is "too" phallic or the Marilyn Monroe air-up-the-dress shot was "too" pneumatic or the pizza and sex you just had were "too" good.

Hi all,

Hmm, it turns out my reinstall "problem" wasn't so bad after all. I have collected ten pieces of essential software that I have reinstall on my new computer for it to have the same set of core functions as the old one. Then I have to copy over my FF bookmarks file and my home banking key, and I'll be set.
All the other stuff can be installed at my leisure.
Good Kristian!
BTW, did you put Win7 x64 on it?
No, I'm paying my computer store to install it for me as part of the deal. Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit OEM.
The whole deal, including OS, is just over $2,000.
Didn't know that computer store in Denmark has a right to install "OEM" Win7... hmmm...

got to practice just a bit when in Toulon for a port call 21 years ago, but I've not really used it since.
I'm just curious exactly what French you were using in your port call in Toulon 21 years ago? [;)]

Nice. Very nice, but lo, how the Empire has fallen. Am gratified, however, to know that my (relatively) English speaking cousins know a bit more French than is necessary to order from a continental menu. Curious, though what Tsvetaeva or Ehrenberg could make of Devuska Voskresenye.
Sorry, am I getting too Pasternakski with this? Don't mean to be, just having fun.
Whoa - JWE invented a new adjective; being "Pasternaksi"! What really scares me though, is that I understand perfectly what it entails [:D]
There's precedent for that sort of thing, you know. I think of "Kafkaesque" and "Orwellian," for example. Not to mention "Nixonian," "Machiavellian" and "Dylanesque." For you freaky Greeks, there's always "Aristotelian," "Socratic" and "Platonic."
My partner in
ennui seems to be suffix-challenged, however, and his new adjective seems to lack
panache as a result. "Pasternakskittish" seems to ring Notre Dame's chimes though,
n'est ce pas?

They buy the OEM license first, obviously. Very, VERY common.

I studied French for 2 years in High School, around 27 years ago, and got to practice just a bit when in Toulon for a port call 21 years ago, but I've not really used it since. Needless to say, almost every bit that I learned has been lost in my brain. I think it's been replaced with useful stuff, like the docking capacity of a size 4 port. [:D]
Now you're talking about RELEVANT things [:D]
