What team do you follow Orm - Malmo? Gothenburg? Djuurgardens? Are the last team even Swedish?

Oh, it's TIME I asked--are you watching the Super Bowl this weekend???
No. For me it is time to gear up for some real football. Swedish season begins soon. [:)]

Meanwhile I listen to a weird song.

Weird maybe, but hilarious and fun...

Time for a one hit wonder, wonderfully done in case you're wondering. (I don't know)

This guy looks like your accountant but has a boomin' voice and rocks out. No comments on the wholesome lady in the video. We didn't have much to work with in those days.

Donnie Iris - Ah Leah

Sure, but I've found the Fountain OF Youth and I'm gonna share it with you free of charge.

You ready?

One last one for the night. Here is Elvin Bishop who played with a lot of groups through the years and was a smokin good guitar player. The guy singing though is Mickey Thomas, his background singer, who later became the frontman for Jefferson Starship and later Starship. Bishop was a renowned bluesman playing with some great bands including one of my favorites The Allman Brothers Band. You'd be surprised how many bigger mainstream bands got their start and were heavily influenced by the blues, Fleetwood Mac's early years for instance.

Elvin Bishop - Fooled Around and Fell In Love

In the words of Charlie Daniels, 'Elvin Bishop sittin' on a bale of hay, he ain't good lookin' but he sure can play'.

DIE! SPAMMER DIE!

How dare you defile this thread right before I post 'Best At Show'! This here song is especially for Prince of Eckmühl but is so good that everyone is hereby ordered to ingest it.
This was song #3 on the European version of the Nazareth-Hair of the Dog album. All U.S. versions had their popular song Love Hurts in its stead and this version went out of print early. My uncles buddy brought the album back for me from Germany and I thought I was King with something so rare as to come from the then far away land of Europe.

It is a Randy Newman remake and the superior imo. Speaking of blues earlier, this Scottish band does the American blues scene justice with a gritty slide guitar moan. A truly haunting song. Almost has a kind of Southern Gospel music to it although the lyrics are certainly not suitable for church. [;)]

A+++

I agree that it's better than Newman's version. It's off of Good Old Boys, for the rest of our readers. And a quick search of Nazareth's discography leads me to believe that it truly has vanished in terms of availability. Congratulations on your treasure; guard it carefully!

SLAAK has a 'certain' theme goin' here and he should continue. I never knew much of Warren Zevon but I had a friend who was big time into him, and Newman, and Buffet. Definitely a good time for music. Rock had another resurgence in the early 90's with some good bands ala early pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. Today, the genre is almost dead to me with a few exceptions.

I could never get into rock. It sounds horribly depressing to me, especially the guitars.

Went and saw my buddy play out Friday and recorded it to CamCorder but I don't have a program that converts MTS files to avi or another youtube suitable format. As soon as I do though I want to post a few minutes of the boy playing his guitar. The guy in incredible with the blues. I remember at age 12 he could play any rock song on the radio to a T when he got into blues at that early stage.
