Wait a minute. Shadowrun? As in the Cyberpunk-genre RPG popularized some twenty years ago? I was *big* into Shadowrun in college RPG circles. Would love a review of decent computer games on that genre, T.

The very same. I played it from 1993 to about 2006.

The computer game is being made by a company called Harebrained Schemes, led by Jordan Weisman (one of the original inventors of the pen-and-paper game). It's going to be the first proper Shadowrun CRPG.

Well, planning a backpacking trip here in Iowa or southern Wisconsin. I'm taking the boy I mentor to his first true outing in the great outdoors. I'd give it a 50/50 shot that the mosquitoes suck us dry before night falls.[X(]

Well, planning a backpacking trip here in Iowa or southern Wisconsin. I'm taking the boy I mentor to his first true outing in the great outdoors. I'd give it a 50/50 shot that the mosquitoes suck us dry before night falls.[X(]

1. Spray your clothes with permethrin topical clothing spray. Let them dry. You'll be glad you did.

2. Try to avoid hiking in low areas (yeah, I know, they're *all* lowland areas in Minnesota) at dawn and dusk.

3. Spray your skin or use some >30% deet paste. The picaridin stuff is an aperitif. The herbal stuff? They pick their teeth with that before they eat.

4. Long sleeve shirts that are breathable. Head netting helps for the mosquitos and some of the black or biting flies. I'm serious.

5. Mosquito netting for the campsite / bedding.

Good luck. Oh-one more thing! Avoid Iowa and Wisconsin. They eat their young. [;)]
