I rather like the current system in place. It's effective and works quite well at getting me information I need.

Joe 98,
That was an attempt at tongue-in-cheek humor, assuming the role of the arrogant yank who thinks all he need do is overwhelm his enemy with fire and maneuver.
Have I played this game against human opponents? No.
Have I ever played a wargame against a human opponent? Far, far, far too many times to count over the course of 33+ years of wargaming.

Piggybacking on Joe's comment.
It would be nice to see all units dug-in/entrenched/fortified with an "F" key like F11 which isn't used in HttR. (is it used in CotA? - I don't have cota yet, I'm waiting on bulge) ... F11=only dug-in/entrenched units displayed ... F12=only fortified units displayed.
The icon graphic for dig-in and entreched is tough to differentiate but if its too bad I change my screen resolution.
Maybe this would help Joe's issue. It would be nice to see something graphic either around a map icon or some type of graphic is displayed where "entrenchment" and "Fortifications" are located. It would then be a map graphic, not an icon graphic.
There were lots of WWII situations where fortified lines were attached. In HttR there's no way to tell where these fortified lines are located. The map doesn't show anything that's built during the game except bridges ... that I know of.

ps - after being away from HttR for a while I found out last night as I played it the first time in month's, Its an awesome game.
