Now, now. The last couple of posts have just been pointless sniping for the point of sniping. He plays, he wins, his games don't go on past mid-42. There is no dishonour in this so long as he sticks to whatever house rules he and his opponents agree to.

After my last few turns with my opponent, I humbly submit to ya'll that I should be ranked on the list of best players. Yup, I believe I have earned the spot. Mark me down as number 19,053,611.

How do you rate on the silliness scale Sonny?

HI Kerugulen is a good player. I am about to enter 1944 in game as Japan against him. He does nothing silly.
Then why play him???
[:D][:D]
Silliness - not so much. Stupid - way up high on the scale.[:o]

I have two games too my name (one in Mar '42, one in Jan '42) and I have to attest to the fact that either both of my opponents are gods or I am really really REALLY BAD! Tlkillerich and Jwxspoon are outstanding and I recommend both players (especially Tlkillerich) as tough opponents.

I appreciate the complement Riva, but I am not in the same league as Jagdfluger. Tlkiilerich is though, through sheer attention to detail.

So right about Tlkillerich is that he does not make mistakes. He just doesn't. He may lose a battle, but it is because he has carefully calculated what effect he wants to achieve and even in defeat, he derives some benefit out of it.

I am playing them both and they are giving me trouble in our 2 vs 1 game. I think in the other game 1 vs 1 I am giving jeff as good as he is giving me I hope.

I am playing two opponents, I have only had two opponents since starting WITP. Both have been excellent. STLDIVER and NEMO. both paly different styles. It is so important to agree on what type of game you want. Disppointment and frustration are the result of unclear or unreal expectations. I recommend either, STLDIVER just deafeated an Allied player in '42! Just do not take away time from our matches. LOL.

My loss as the Allies came after I did a War Plan Orange type move with the un-attacked Pacific Fleet battleships from Pearl. I sent 2 TFs with 4 BBs each to Truk to pre-empt a gathering force readying for an invasion of Rabaul.
Unfortunately, the bulk of the Japanese battleship fleet was guarding the port, plus plenty of cruisers and detroyers sporting Long Lance torps.
I timed my appraoch wrong and attacked at night.
So, major damage to the US fleet and Bettys and Nells finished all by 1 BB off.
After that, I lost my carriers defending Efate/Luganville and an easy autovictory was a certainty for Kerugulen.
Have to correct you - you're describing your game vs me, not Kerguelen (unless you did the same thing vs him, but that would mean you have two losses [:D])
I was about to say you're perhaps the most dangerous opponent I have ever played, and that I'm proud that this one loss in your tally was in our game (you won game #2 though, and would win perhaps every other game as Allied before the end of 42)

June ´42? [8D] As the lenght of your PBEMs probably doesn´t say much about your skill, but June ´42 is still funny for me. I´ve got 2 PBEMs in late 43, one in 11/42 and two in mid 42.
Jagdfluger's style of play is all out, kill or be killed, lets end this thing quickly...... which suits me BTW.
We played two games, both were effectivelly won and/or lost by spring 42, as he says. (I was Japan in both, won the first one - as Jagd offered his ships as sacrificial gift - lost the second one)
So, it's not that the length of his PBEMs "says nothing about his skill" - on the contrary it says a lot. I would not surrender the game (nor claim it as win) unless the situation isn't really really clear.

I'll cast a vote for Halsey. We are a few days short of Jan. 1943 and I'm still trying for some sort of counter attack. He still has Canton and Palymra! He takes islands just a little to far away for my LBA to do much and threatens to butcher me if I get to close. What is really annoying is the ocassional raid into my shipping lanes!

I must say that I am enjoying the game with Jack. I started playing the AI after I first purchase the game and decided that I needed to try a PBEM game. The AI was not much to play against. Jack has been a challenge to play against. My win to loss ratio to date is as follows:
Japan 1 on 1
5 wins and 1 loss with 4 games in progress one of which is a 2 vs 1
Allies 1 on 1
4 wins 0 losses with 4 games in progress
I am getting my but kicked by Don in 2 games at the moment. I would like to play Jack as allies after we finish our current game.

Clearly I am not. I don't believe I have won a single game. I recently surrendered as the Japanese vs Worr in late 42 (he is damn good).
If you are looking for a detailed oriented doesn't miss a thing opponent, Worr, Aletoledo or Xargun...they will clean your clock if you miss something.
